“Sherry, aren’t the two wedding gifts given by your poor son-in-law priceless?”
After Richard’s departure, Peter asked with surprise.
Amber also came over, and shrieked in a high-pitch tone, “The costs tens of million dollars! How about the Pola Jade?”
“Well, Sherry’s life is getting way better than before now. Her family can afford to give a present costing more than millions of dollars. Very impressed!”
“Yeah, don’t you guys know Sherry is the best daughter in the whole family? How come her son-in-law is a poor and crap?”
…
Compliments to Sherry sounded almost at the same time.
Sherry looked complacent, but felt upset inside her heart.
Because she never reckoned that Baron was rich and able to afford something that was priceless, even for the villa he lived in was given by the Lewis family.
But Baron did surprise her.
She was under a cloud now, for Baron had never gave her any gift worth millions of dollars.
“Sherry, call Baron, let him come back for lunch!”
Peter changed his attitude towards Baron. Before he called him a poor crap, and now, he called him in name, and with respect.
“I am afraid you misunderstood one thing!”
Sherry cleared her throat, and said proudly, “The tea, the jade, they’re bought by my daughter Tracy. Baron is just a poor lad, he would never afford to buy such priceless gifts, and I will surely make them divorced.”
“Sherry, do you really mean it to get them divorced?”
Gemma, the wife of Sherry’s cousin, said questioningly. Others might not believe in Baron, but she did. She knew Baron must be a person with power and money.
Other people in the house remained silence. Obviously, they trusted Sherry, and just wanted to be onlookers to see how things would develop.
After all, Tracy was the general manager of Samho Group, and Yuri was the general manager of Cona Branch of Brone Group. They had the ability to buy things of tens of million dollars.
“What? Are you trying to convince me to marry my daughter to your family? No way! My daughter will never live in a small town like you!”
Sherry said in a curt tone, shrugging off.
“You misunderstand me. I don’t want your daughter Tracy. I was wondering, if you made them divorce, my niece, who is older enough to get married, may be a good choice for Baron.”
Gemma spoke with a glee.
“If you don’t mind that he is a crap, then just do what you want to. For me, I want him disappear in my family as fast as it can be!” said Sherry, sneering.
“Mom, what are you talking about?”
Tracy happened to come out from Richard’s bedroom. Hearing Sherry’s words, she was pissed off.
“Tracy, your mom wants you to divorce Baron, can you tell me now when you will do it? So, I can let my niece know and go for Baron at that time.”
Gemma asked happily.
Sherry didn’t dare to say a word. She stood there with her mouth shut.
Sherry felt very embarrassed, but she didn’t lose her temper. She said politely, “Aunt, we are not getting divorced, Baron and me are doing great, and we are going to have our second child.”
“Oh, you are not divorcing?”
Gemma was disappointed.
On the other side…
Baron left from Kato Prosperity, and now was heading back to the hotel. All of sudden, he saw an old man lying down on the sidewalk, with one hand covering his chest, and another hand gesturing to cars passing by as if asking for help.
“He fakes it. It’s a scam, stay away from him!”
“Yes. I heard that a man was broken because he helped an old man and was blackmailed.”
