Chloe was stunned. She thought her ears or her brain were malfunctioning as she asked in disbelief, "100 thousand dollars?"
"Yes, 100 thousand."
"You're not worth such a price."
'She really should’ve thought it over before putting the bite on me,' Chloe thought.
"I assure you that I'm definitely worth it," Hazel replied resolutely.
Chloe raised an eyebrow. "Give me a reason."
"It’ll save you a lot of trouble if I don't join Fairlight. The moment my face appears there, you'll feel a sense of crisis,” Hazel responded with full confidence.
"Fine, go ahead," Chloe replied dismissively, lowering her gaze to the computer screen, unwilling to waste any more time on Hazel.
"Aren't you afraid in the slightest?"
"The fact is that you can't even get into Fairlight, so giving you 100 thousand would be pointless, wouldn't it? I'm not an idiot," Chloe said with a helpless smile.
"I’m not finished!" Hazel roared in frustration.
"Fine, go on."
"When I had an interview with the Whitman Group three years ago, it wasn't of my own intention. Someone paid me to apply there."
Chloe's heart skipped a beat, and her brow slowly furrowed.
"I don't know who the woman was, but she gave me some photos of Xavia and asked me to dress up like her during the interview."
"What else?"
"I think that woman is very likely associated with Xavia or working for her."
Chloe had long sensed that Xavia was not simple, but she never imagined that Xavia had set the stage years ago.
‘Is she truly willing to go to such extreme lengths just to become Joseph's wife or is there a bigger story to all this?'
The thought sent chills down Chloe's spine.
