Chloe stared at the strange number but did not look surprised. She knew exactly who it was.
Noah settled the bill and picked up her coat. "The weather's nice. Let's go for a walk."
"No, we should hurry back to the office. It's the last quarter of the year. We should strive to earn as much as we can.” Chloe then walked out. She had to go for her check-up later this afternoon and could not miss it.
Their car was parked outside the restaurant, and something dazzled Chloe’s eyes when she got in. She turned and spotted two men in suits standing opposite the car. The dazzling light was a reflection of the dagger in one of the men’s hands.
She narrowed her eyes at the men. They were probably the bodyguards Callum had mentioned. And as expected, they got into an SUV after Noah started the car and followed behind them.
The scenery outside passed in a blur. Chloe was hit with a myriad of emotions. Callum had assumed that Xavia would try to take revenge on Chloe, and so had arranged for bodyguards.

When Chloe got back to the office and was about to dive into work, someone informed her that Michael was arguing with the receptionist.
Chloe was stunned. "Michael?" She then recalled that he had texted her a few days ago. She had forgotten to text him back because she had been very busy.
"Yeah. The receptionist told him that he could not come in without an appointment but he refused to listen and insisted on coming in. The security guards are trying to stop him."
"Did they ask what he came here for?"
"I don't know the details. It’s causing quite the scene and even attracted the paparazzi."
She murmured, "That’s not right. Michael’s a celebrity and had even cooperated with us. Even if he didn't make an appointment, he wouldn't be stopped at reception."
Her colleague shook her head. "I don't know what went down either. I think the guards are being a bit strict today."
Chloe frowned as she pondered. "I’ll go find out what’s going on."
"Let's put that aside for now." Michael decided not to reveal it.
After all, he and Chloe had only known each other for a few days whilst Noah and her had known each other for a few years. It was clear who she would believe, and he was not about to court contempt.
"Are you sure? I can help you if you need something."
"It's fine, though I’d like to say something, and I hope you won't think I'm crazy."
"What is it?"
"I think there's something wrong with your fiance. You should reconsider the relationship."
Noah’s strong possessiveness did not match his gentle facade. Michael had met this sort of person before, those who hid well and had a dark mind.
