Zoelle exclaimed in a playful tone, "Seriously? With that girl you’re always hanging around?"
Looking at the woman beside him, Noah gently replied, "Yes."
"Not bad. Looks like you've achieved your goal. I’ll definitely be there for your wedding. As for treating this person, I'll have to take a look at their condition first. Email me the patient's information and I'll take a look."
"Okay."
Chloe did not hear the contents of their conversation and stared at him with anticipation. "How did it go? Did Dr. Z agree?"
"Most likely."
"Thank you so much. If not for you knowing Dr. Z, Vanya would be as good as dead and we won't be able to get anything useful out of her."
A sharp glint flashed through Noah's eyes as his eyebrows went up.
How could sewer rats be given the chance to see the sunlight? Vanya knew a lot of secrets and was destined to die. Instead of lingering in agony, she had managed to find a glimmer of hope. Little did she know she was about to meet her demise.

In the afternoon, sunlight shone through a window onto two figures on a bed.
Kenneth gazed at the naked woman in his arms, recalling the passion he and Xavia had indulged in last night. His face turned red as he chided himself for his lack of self-control. He came here to change a lightbulb, yet he had acted like some kind of sex-crazed man. They were not even married yet and he already could not resist making love to her, which was inappropriate morally and logically.
As he pondered about how to get his parents to approve of Xavia and speed up their relationship, the phone on the coffee table rang. He lifted the covers and went to turn the phone off.
When he was halfway there, Xavia woke up and asked with a drowsy voice, "Mm? Who's calling?"
