Lucas, whose thoughts had been exposed, wanted to refute. But in the end, he decided against it since it would be unsightly. "I'll be leaving now, sir."
When there were only two of them in the office, Zoelle casually threw her coat onto the leather sofa and strode toward Joseph in her high heels. She pushed her hair to the front of her chest and bent over. Her hair brushed past his cheeks, carrying with it a light, pleasant fragrance. "Will you accompany me for a meal? I didn’t eat before coming here."
Normal men would fail to hold back in the face of such flirting, but Joseph simply leaned backward to put some distance between them. He then said nonchalantly, "I ordered some food delivery. It’ll be here soon."
Zoelle was stunned before she said smilingly, "Are you that impatient?"
"Yes, I think our time is valuable."
"You are correct..." Zoelle then looked around. "But since it’s our first time, we at least need a bed, right?"
She was meticulous in this aspect. She wanted handsome men she found charming, not playboys or flatterers. If the atmosphere was bad, it would affect her mood.
Joseph raised his brows as he looked up. "This isn't a booty call."
His directness made Zoelle feel awkward and humiliated though she was experienced in such matters. But she suppressed her feelings as a sarcastic smirk crept up her face. "Then why did you call me here?"
"You're a doctor. Why do you think I called you?"
Zoelle's expression stiffened. She took a deep breath, grabbed her coat, and walked toward the door.
"Name your price."
She sneered. "Do I look like I need money?"
Joseph said calmly, "How about 7 million dollars?"
"No." Zoelle stared at him arrogantly. "I’ll only do it if you give your body to me."
Many rich people all over the world dreamed of having her treat them. She was only treating Vanya to repay Noah for saving her in the past. She looked down on 14 million dollars, let alone 7 million.
"I have someone I love, so I won't bed another woman."
Zoelle frowned. "You're married?"
"You could say that." He had been married once, after all.
Zoelle was curious about the woman who managed to win Joseph's heart and make him so loyal. Was she a fairy or something? But she did not bother to ask and simply continued walking. "Forget it. I'm leaving."
"It just so happened that I got my hands on a very particular herb." Joseph looked solemn as he said slowly, "People call it cajoper."
