The story is about Kendall Parker, who learns that her daughter has been killed by her husband, Jackson Whittle, and her sister-in-law, Kelly Parker. Kendall is devastated and heartbroken as she walks out of the hospital holding her daughter's body. She feels remorse and regrets not listening to her parents' advice to marry into the Coleman Family instead of Jackson. As she tries to cross the road, she is hit by a car and thrown into the air. When she wakes up, she sees a man bending down to carry her daughter's body and shoving it into her arms. She hugs her daughter ecstatically as she feels the darkness beginning to engulf her. She raises her head to see who the man is, but the story ends on a cliffhanger, leaving the reader wondering about the man's identity.

Kendall wakes up to realize she is not in the hospital, but she has been reborn and transported back in time to three years ago. Kendall is grateful for this second chance and wants to make the best of it, but her thoughts are interrupted when Dylan, a man she had met on the day she died, enters the room with his bodyguards. When she sees herself in a phone camera, Kendall realizes that she is back to the age of 26, and all the tragedies she experienced in her previous life had not yet happened. Kendall tells Dylan that she will marry him, even though he is cold and indifferent, and he refuses, saying he has no feelings for her. Kendall becomes desperate and bites Dylan's chest. He shoves her away, and the bodyguards stare at her in shock.
