Let's Start All Over Again, Shall We (Maggie and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 124

Chapter 124 What She Really Wants.

“Ms. Adam, you’ve got specific needs and standards, so it might take a while to track them down. I’ll make- sure you get them in three days, Shawn promptly assured.

Maggie felt pleased. Thank you, Mr. Lewis.”

She’d been wanting to get diamonds for quite some time, but finding ones that satisfied her was proving to be a challenge.

With Nathael’s birthday looming, she wanted to gift him a brooch. The design was ready, but sourcing the materials was proving to be a hurdle.

Being a jewelry designer, she had high standards for diamond and gemstone quality.

It wasn’t that good ones were scarce, but even the slightest deviations from her expectations were significant. When it came to diamonds, she had specific demands for color, clarity, cut, origin, and more.

That was why Maggie found it a tough nut to crack.

But what was a tough nut for her was a walk in the park for Shawn. Dealing with gemstones and jewelry all year round, he had a stash of goods, making it easy for him to get the batch of diamonds she desired.

“Ms. Adam, I really can’t budge on the price, but I can promise on the timeline. You won’t find anyone faster than me,” Shawn pitched, eager for the deal to go through.

Maggie’s lips curled as she looked Shawn straight in the eye. “We can haggle over the price, Mr. Lewis, but you should also understand that we’re in competition with the Adams, so we naturally need to be quicker.”

“What’s your proposed timeline?” Shawn frowned slightly, intrigued by Maggie’s revelation.

If she can up the price, I guess I can speed up delivery….

“Ten days. I need the first batch delivered in no more than ten days,” Maggie asserted firmly.

Shawn didn’t immediately respond but rather pondered earnestly. Ten days might not seem much earlier than the two weeks he initially suggested, but considering the logistics involved in transporting goods by sea and land, it was no easy feat.

Moreover, though it was only a four–day advance, it represented one–third of the time, making it quite challenging.

“Mr. Lewis, I’m sure you’re capable of that. If you can shorten the delivery time to ten days for the first batch, I can offer 4% more compared to the Adams, Maggie proposed.

Listening to Maggie, Shawn quickly calculated the profit margin and pondered its feasibility.

A few minutes later, Shawn looked up at Maggie and pushed the aquamarine set towards her once more, saying softly. “Ms. Adam, I’ll make sure you get the diamonds you want. But could you give me a hint what’s the maximum the Camerons are willing to offer

Shawn’s demeanor was bold/

Nevertheless, he had always been daring and pushing boundaries. Although speeding up the delivery by

And when it came to risky ventures, one had to weigh if the benefits outweighed the risks.

Clearly, the price offered by the Camerons wasn’t enough.

Or perhaps, Shawn subconsciously felt it could be higher.

79%

Maggie couldn’t help but smile. “Mr. Lewis, you’re quite interesting. But as you know, in business, no one would show their hand to the other party.”

Shawn chuckled. “But will you, Ms. Adam?”

Shawn was gambling that Maggie might disclose some information because her last name was Adam, not Cameron..

Although she was raised by the Camerons, she wasn’t part of their family, and it didn’t make sense for her to compromise herself for the Camerons‘ benefit. Moreover, showing the Camerons hand wouldn’t cause her any losses.

Maggie still didn’t take the aquamarine jewelry set, saying, “Mr. Lewis, I won’t beat around the bush. The most I can do is 4%.

Even though Ronald’s cap was 5%, she couldn’t offer exactly that because he would’ve expected it.
