Let's Start All Over Again, Shall We (Maggie and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 20

Chapter 20 Taking Care Of Yourself

Joseph was taken aback for a moment. He hadn’t expected such a bold statement from Maggie, who had. always been accommodating.

“What did you say?”

The man who had always pretended to be gentle and polite suddenly revealed his true nature, angrily grabbing her wrist.

“Mr. Cameron, even though I am the adopted daughter of the Camerons, it seems you have no right to criticize me.” Maggie smiled faintly. Her cold eyes carried a hint of mischievous intrigue, appearing both distant and affectionate.

Unable to break free, she allowed him to hold her and said nonchalantly, “Since you’re neither my boyfriend nor my fiancé, it seems irrelevant to you who I associate with, or even if I choose to degrade myself.

Joseph breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that.

So, she was just throwing a tantrum.

“Maggic. I’ve told you that once your ties to the Camerons are severed, I will make our relationship public. But it’s not the right time yet.” Joseph softened his tone, unusually patient in his explanation.

But strangely, even though the woman in front of him was the same as always, he felt that something had changed.

“Mr. Cameron seems to be mistaken. We have nothing to make public.” Maggie laughed carelessly. Her face was radiant and captivating.

That’s right. She and Joseph had been ambiguously involved for years. Still, he had never expressed his feelings for her, let alone publicly acknowledged their relationship.

She was naive, assuming that childhood sweethearts didn’t need to verbalize certain things.

But genuine respect didn’t work that way.

Maggie couldn’t help but wonder if Joseph had ever truly loved her in her previous life.

Perhaps he did?

But she thought that what he enjoyed more was the pleasure of being adored by her. What he needed. more was a docile and obedient tool.

Perhaps he did like her appearance. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have wanted to be intimate with her in the first place.

Unfortunately, she wasn’t willing at that time.

As a result, Joseph didn’t get what he wanted and deliberately distanced himself from her for a while.

Joseph frowned and said, “Maggie, there’s a limit to throwing tantrums. Even if you’re upset, you shouldn’t

Maggie smiled and looked at him, asking, “But when I was with Nathael, you clearly said you didn’t care.

Mentioning this, Joseph’s frown deepened. He responded, “What happened with Nathael was not of your own will. It’s a different matter.”

Maggie nodded as if understanding. Then, she looked at Joseph and said, “Let me make it clear. Mr. Cameron and I have always been platonic. We have never had any romantic involvement. In the future, when you’re out, please don’t associate me with you.”

“Maggie, what do you mean? Do you know what you’re doing? Joseph shouted angrily. He didn’t understand what she was up to.

He was naturally upset about the incident with Nathael.

But compared to a woman, he naturally desired more wealth and power. After all, women were all the same.

But that didn’t mean he could accept being betrayed by Maggie.

After all, giving her away was one thing, but her betraying him was another!

“Who was the man last night? What did you do with him?” Joseph dropped the pretense. His handsome face clouded with uncertainty.

Maggie curved her lips, tiptoed to his ear, and laughed, “Of course, it’s the kind of thing that men and women do together.”
