Chapter 51 Win Some, Lose Somet
Upon hearing this, Mia couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows and look at Vanessa with a half–smile.
The smile on Vanessa’s face froze instantly. She instinctively turned her head to look at the old lady beside her. She felt uneasy yet hopeful.
In contrast, Madam Adam’s expression remained calm. She looked at Vanessa and said softly, “Ms. Gatlin has a point. We must be willing to accept the loss. Since we can’t win, we can only admit defeat.”
Vanessa never expected this response from Madam Adam. Her eyes welled up with tears. She stared coldly at Maggie and asked, “What have you done?”
The look in Maggie’s eyes was cold. She replied with a smile, “No comment.”
Vanessa’s nails dug into her palm. She never expected that Maggie could actually do it. But how did she do it? How did she manage to tarnish Madam Adam’s reputation?
“Tsk, it seems that someone is destined not to get what they want,” Mia spoke softly. Her posture was seductive and alluring, and every gesture exuded captivating charm.
For a moment, the necklace around Vanessa’s neck felt like a burden.
With tears in her eyes, she yanked it off and threw it back onto the velvet tray on the table. She warned, “Don’t get ahead of yourself.”
Mia bent down to pick up the necklace. The exquisite piece in her hand looked like a work of art.
However, there was no trace of appreciation in her eyes. She casually twirled it around, as if the object held no value.
“Relax, Ms. Brown. I’ll only be happy to acquire this trinket for three days at most. It’s not worth. my time.”
“You!”
Vanessa was so furious that her lips were trembling.
Madam Adam stood up and said, “There’s no point in arguing. Vanessa, remember, don’t ever regret what you’ve lost.”
Vanessa pretended to be obedient, but her heart was filled with bitterness.
But if I never owned something, how could I lose it?
Mia looked at Madam Adam and said, “Thank you for your understanding.”
Madam Adam simply nodded. Her expression was flat, and she said nothing more.
After Vanessa and Madam Adarn left, Mia immediately wrapped her arms around Maggie’s neck and gave her a kiss on the check.
“Maggie, you’re amazing!”
Chapter 51 Win Some, Lose Some
Maggie was dizzy from the kiss. She gave Mia a glance before laughing lightly and asking, “Can I take that as a compliment?”
“Of course, tell me how you did it.” Mia was no longer as indifferent as before. The truth was, she was eager
to know.
“I’m friends with the main designer of this brand. She’s always wanted to recruit me, but I never agreed. When she was designing this collection, she was lacking inspiration. During our casual conversation, she
with a new idea and thought my name should be credited for this work.”
came up
Maggie briefly explained. Although she used the name ‘Madagic to maintain a low profile, it was not exactly a secret.
She rarely showed her face in public, but she had connections with many designers.
In Maggie’s opinion, Blaire’s insistence on adding her name to the credits was a bit excessive. After all, inspiration was a very personal and spontaneous thing. Even if she could provide direction, it might not necessarily align with her style. Design, after all, depends on oneself.
“Maggie, you’re truly amazing!” Mia said with pride, as if she were a doting mother and her daughter had finally achieved something on her own after years of hard work.
