Chapter 69 Take It or Leave It
Maggie was taken aback. She hesitated for a moment before blushing and saying, “Mr. Harris, watch manner!
your
Without waiting for his response, Maggie turned and headed back to the villa.
Nathael pursed his lips, and there was joy in his eyes. Then, his gaze darkened for some reason.
While carrying breakfast upstairs, Maggie accidentally bumped into Joseph. He was rushing downstairs at the time. The food in Maggie’s hands was knocked onto the stairs.
Half of the coffee was spilled, but the croissants were barely salvageable.
Maggie frowned. She was unable to conceal her distaste.
The croissant from Garnet Street? From who?” Joseph immediately recognized them and felt oddly dissatisfied.
Worried that she might lose her temper, Maggie refrained from speaking and simply squatted down to pick up the food.
However, Joseph wasn’t sensible. He squatted down and stopped her. He coldly remarked, “The man from last night?”
Avoiding his touch, Maggie looked up at him and sneered, “Aren’t you nosy? Why are you so worried about my business? Or you have nothing to do and enjoy acting cheap after losing me?”
“Maggie, I admit my past mistakes.”
Before Joseph could finish, he noticed Maggie picking up a tube of ointment on the floor. Both of their gazes froze simultaneously.
Maggie examined the ointment in her hand and wondered, Anti–inflammatory and pain relief ointment?
She was bewildered.
Oh no! She screamed in her head.
Nathael actually bought her this; her butt wasn’t swollen.
Maggie was furious. Her cheeks burned with embarrassment. She considered this a great humiliation.
Nathael did it intentionally! He must have done it on purpose!
Joseph snatched the ointment from her hand. He naturally assumed it was a pain reliever after they got intimate. A hint of anger flashed in his eyes as he chided, “Where did you go last night? Did you visit Leo? Did you sleep with him?”
Maggie grabbed the ointment back and tossed it into the paper bag. She stood up, faced him, and said, “Yes, I slept with him! I slept with him a long time ago! Do I need to prove it to you for you to believe it?”
Joseph’s expression darkened. He never truly believed that Maggie would engage in such behavior.

certain aspects, or perhaps it was a psychological disbelief, not accepting that she would easily abandon him and be interested in someone else. Despite the evidence presented to him repeatedly, Joseph never truly believed that she had slept with someone else..
Maggie carried the breakfast back to her room. Her previously good mood was gone due to the ominous. presence of Joseph.
After freshening up, she gazed at the croissant and the remaining coffee. She felt somewhat distracted.
How foolish was she in her past life to believe that Joseph genuinely cared for her?
Reflecting on it now, he knew she enjoyed the croissant from Garnet Street, but he never purchased it for her.
The soft and tender pastry melted in her mouth, with a slightly crispy base. The rich chocolate burst inside her mouth. It was incredibly delicious.
Maggie contentedly closed her eyes and savored the familiar taste.
She glanced up and saw the ointment Nathael had sent. She pursed her lips and hummed softly.
This is the evidence!
The undeniable evidence that he had committed a crime toward me!
The ointment was originally packaged in a separate bag, but it fell out after the collision with Joseph.
