Chapter 91 Missing Him
A few minutes later, Vanessa received a reply, ‘Done.”
Upon seeing this, a smile involuntarily appeared on her face, and she glanced in Maggie’s direction with a hint of schadenfreude.
She was eager to witness Maggie’s expression when she realized her computer was empty on stage.
It was definitely something to anticipate!
Meanwhile, Maggie’s phone suddenly vibrated, and she saw it was a message from her cousin Lucas.
“Maggie, your computer has been hacked, the message read.
Maggie furrowed her brow, took note of the time, and then discreetly left the classroom through the back exit to call Lucas directly.
After Sierra had spilled water on her previous computer, rendering it useless, Lucas had assembled and customized a new one for her. It had been sent over from overseas and proved to be efficient.
“What’s the situation? Get straight to the point, Maggie said as soon as the call connected.
“I had installed a firewall and anti–hacking system on your computer previously. The alarm is linked to my phone, so I was alerted when it was breached,” Lucas explained in a concise manner.
Although his voice sounded sleepy, he swiftly investigated the issue upon receiving the alert.
He was sleeping soundly when his phone rang. It woke him up, but not without a big yawn. Then he quickly checked the situation.
“Several design drafts were deleted from your computer, but I managed to recover them for you,” Lucas informed her.
Lucas leaned on his chair, typing away on his keyboard. And a few moments later, his work was done.
“Can you identify the culprit?” Maggie inquired.
“I traced the IP address to a nearby café by your school. The individual appears to be quite skilled. I am currently hacking into their system,” Lucas replied casually, yet his actions were precise.
“Keep me updated if you find anything,” Maggie instructed before ending the call.
Meanwhile, Lucas poured himself a glass of cold water and took a few sips to refresh his mind.
The young man, with a hint of innocence in his features, stretched his arms before returning to his computer desk, saying nonchalantly, “Let’s see who you are.”
In no time, Lucas successfully accessed the person’s webcam
He observed a middle–aged man with thick black–framed glasses, a checkered shirt, and a scruffy beard, looking smug and self–satisfied.
Intrigued, Lucas leaned in closer to get a clearer view.
Chapter 91 Missing Him
Who’s this zany guy?
Does Maggie know a guy like this?
Using facial recognition software, Lucas swiftly identified the man and hacked into his phone to discover at text message from Vanessa.
Oh, Vanessa.
The name rang a bell. Before he had left the country, Vanessa had visited the Camerons with Maggie a few times, and he had crossed paths with her as well.
You can never know a person’s true colors. And to think Maggie’s been nice to her.
Lucas promptly shared the information with Maggie, who, upon seeing Vanessa’s name, had a steely look in her eyes.
I knew it.
She just won’t learn her lesson.
Shortly after, Lucas messaged again, “Watch how I handle her.
Upon reading this, Maggie did not intervene. Sometimes, individuals needed to face consequences to learn their lesson. If the previous incident had not been enough, Vanessa needed to experience the repercussions of her actions once more.
Maggie pocketed her phone without further inquiry..
The school administrators had delivered their statements and words of encouragement, followed by
ches and guidance from department leaders and mentors. Thus, the first phase of the graduation. design competition had officially commenced.
As Maggie gazed towards the platform, she caught sight of a familiar figure.
However, due to the size of the classroom, lighting, and angle, she couldn’t discern the identity clearly.
Even so, that figure still left her feeling a little dazed.
Is it really him…
