"Smells so good!"
Juliette wrinkled her nose, drooling almost uncontrollably.
Beside her, Esther also swallowed hard.
There was no escaping the irresistible aroma.
"Here comes the noodles!"
Soon enough, Chris Shelby appeared with three bowls of noodles.
Juliette hurried over, curiosity in her eyes as she asked, "Chris, what kind of noodles have you cooked for us? Why do they taste so delicious?"
Seeing Juliette's curious gaze, Chris Shelby proudly replied, "I cooked crab meat noodles!"
"Really? Then I must give it a taste!"
With that, Juliette unabashedly picked up her chopsticks and took a bite of the noodles.
"So delicious!"
After a moment, Juliette, looking at Chris Shelby in amazement, exclaimed, "Chris, your cooking skills are truly amazing, these noodles are just too delicious!"
"Come on!"
Esther scoffed, "Is it really that exaggerating? At home, Chris Shelby cooks for me every day."
As for Chris Shelby's cooking skills, Esther truly appreciated them.
In all honesty, Chris Shelby's cooking skills were on par with those of a chef from a five-star hotel.
When Chris Shelby was expelled from the Shelby family and left to fend for himself on the streets, he had no choice but to learn how to cook for himself.
Hearing Esther's words, Juliette's heart suddenly felt a pang.
She knew that Esther's words were meant to provoke her.
Esther was Chris Shelby's wife, and of course, Chris Shelby cooked for her frequently.
Seeing the two women seemingly ready to reignite old flames, Chris Shelby quickly interjected, "Alright, hurry up and eat the noodles! They won't taste good when they're cold!"
Esther didn't make a fuss and came over to eat the noodles.
After taking a bite, she had a satisfied expression on her face.
Truth be told, having gotten used to Chris Shelby's cooking, eating outside food now felt worse than eating crap to Esther.
After giving Chris Shelby a glance, Esther said, "Honey, you don't have much going on lately. How about cooking for us at home every day from now on?"
"Yes, yes!"
Upon hearing this, Juliette's eyes lit up, and she excitedly shouted, "Chris, you should cook for us every day from now on! After eating your food, even a royal chef's cooking won't appeal to me!"
Huh?
At that moment, Chris Shelby was completely dumbfounded.
What? Does cooking a bowl of noodles mean he'll be destined to be a househusband for life?
In less than a moment, Esther and Juliette had finished their respective bowls of noodles.
After finishing their meal, the two women stared eagerly at the noodles still in Chris Shelby's hands.
Seeing this, Chris Shelby immediately asked, "What do you two want? I haven't eaten yet!"
"Hehe!"
Juliette chuckled mischievously, "Chris, I haven't eaten enough, how about giving me your noodles?"
"For real!"
Chris Shelby retorted, "Juliette, don't be unreasonable. I haven't even had my meal yet."
"Chris, it's fine, just cook another bowl!"
With that, Juliette simply snatched the noodles from Chris Shelby's hands.
Seeing himself left empty-handed, Chris Shelby was left dumbfounded.
Damn! Did cooking a bowl of noodles mean he wouldn't even get to eat enough himself, let alone have a satisfying meal?
Chris Shelby couldn't help but feel like screaming at the heavens. Why was his life so bitter?
With no other choice, Chris Shelby had to go back to the kitchen to cook a few more bowls of noodles.
Esther and Juliette ended up eating two to three bowls each before finally feeling full.
After their meal, they lounged on the couch, contentedly watching TV.
Seeing the empty bowls on the table, Chris Shelby couldn't help but feel frustrated and asked, "Who's going to wash the dishes?"
Esther nonchalantly replied, "Of course, you are! Do you expect us to wash them for you?"
"I..."
