"A trap formation! It really is a trap formation!" Chris Shelby exclaimed in shock as he entered the stone gate.
Before his eyes, the scene changed dramatically. A vast desert appeared, with endless yellow sand and no vegetation in sight.
Tiger curiously asked, "Boss, how is this formation different from the one we encountered in Manson Jefferson's tomb?"
When they had entered Manson Jefferson's tomb, they had also faced a trap formation. Only Chris Shelby, Guardian Tim, and a few other practitioners had successfully navigated it. Otherwise, everyone else would have been trapped inside.
Tiger scratched his head, wondering if they were about to go through the same ordeal again.
Chris Shelby thought for a moment and said, "It should be different. But since it's a trap formation, there must be similarities. Let's observe carefully first and then break this formation."
Chris Shelby wasn't an expert on formations, but his master, Archer Wintersong, was a formation grandmaster. Under his master's guidance, Chris had learned some basics about formations. He knew that every trap formation had a flaw. If he could find it, they could escape.
"Boss, Peterson Abernathy and the others are missing!" Tiger suddenly shouted.
Chris Shelby snapped out of his thoughts and looked around. Indeed, Peterson Abernathy and the others were gone.
"It seems this formation is quite peculiar," Chris Shelby said as he stroked his chin.
They had entered the stone gate together with Peterson Abernathy and the others, but now they were missing. Clearly, the formation had transported them elsewhere.
"Boss, this formation isn't simple! I'll take a look around," Tiger said before wandering off like a curious child.
Suddenly, Chris Shelby shouted, "Don't move!"
But it was too late. The environment around Tiger changed drastically. He found himself no longer in the desert but in a barren wasteland.
Tiger screamed in terror at the eerie scene. Just then, a hand grabbed him, pulling him back into the desert.
Tiger's face was pale, and cold sweat dripped from his forehead. Meanwhile, Chris Shelby's expression was grim. When he had pulled Tiger back, he had glimpsed another world-a world filled with barren land and white bones everywhere. Even though it was just a momentary glance, it made him break out in cold sweat.
"This place has clearly trapped countless people before," Chris Shelby thought grimly. The despair before death was more terrifying than death itself.
Tiger regained his composure and said fearfully, "Boss, it seems like this place is dangerous at any moment!"
