Because of the power outage, except for the sofa, the other parts of the bedroom were shrouded in darkness. Clara felt that the room was too quiet. It was quiet enough that she could hear her own breathing.
She very nervously cleaned Ethan’s wound.
In order to alleviate her emotions and to break the silence, Clara said, “Ethan, thank you. I owe you a favor.”
Ethan knew why she apologized. Under the dim light, his deep eyes darkened.
After a moment of silence, Ethan said, “Since we are married, I should protect you. You don’t owe me. If you had been injured that night, it would be my fault as your husband.”
Clara understood what the relationship between the two of them consisted of, but when she heard the latter half of his words, her heart uncontrollably skipped a beat.
Ethan always imperceptibly gave her the feeling of being protected...
Clara grunted in agreement and lowered her head, carefully wrapping the gauze around his wound.
As she wrapped the gauze around his chest, through the light of the mobile phone flashlight she clearly saw a lisianthus the size of a coin located on the man’s right side.
Looking closely, there seemed to be a bullet scar under one of the petals.
Clara recalled what Baxter had said. Most likely, that was the scar left by the bullet that had almost killed Ethan.
“Ethan, did you tattoo this flower in order to cover up you bullet scar?” Clara couldn’t help but ask.
It hurt, didn’t it?
She stared intently at the lisianthus, not paying attention to how close she was to Ethan, and how flirtatious it was.
Ethan had always restrained his desires, but Clara was too close to him, almost sitting on his lap.
The bath towel on her body also fell, revealing a wet nightdress. A few strands of black hair stuck to her fair neck, innocently and unintentionally seducing...
Clara saw that Ethan wasn’t answering and realized that might have poked at his sore spot.
She was about to apologize, but when she raised her head, she found that she was awfully close to him.
Clara’s immediately tensed. The next second, Ethan clasped the back of her head and pulled her forward, closing the distance between the two.
“You’re doing much better than last time.” Ethan said in a deep voice.
His warm breath washed over her cheeks.
Her cheeks itched, and without noticing she put her hands on his chest. Her dazed mind quickly remembered before when she had seduced Ethan, and he had ridiculed her for being like a zombie.
“Re- really?” Because she was so nervous, she stuttered a little when she talked.
She didn’t know why, but before countless times she had bold enough to seduce Steve and had felt nothing even lay in his bed in her pajamas.
Now she was nervous only being close to Ethan, wrapped in his breath...
Under the dim light, Ethan saw Clara biting her lip nervously. Her small movements seemed to be silently tempting him, making his lower abdomen tense.
He used his thumb to pry open her lips; his eyes hot with passion.
Clara became even more nervous as he massaged her lips. She saw that he didn’t make any movement for a long time, just staring at her, and she quickly understood.
Clara, trembling, lowered her head and kissed him.
Just when the atmosphere in the bedroom was perfect, the moment her lips touched Ethan’s, the phone rang.
Then Baxter voice also came from outside the door. “Ethan, my brother went to the basement to check and found that the circuit breaker had tripped. He was afraid that you were still working on the computer, so he asked me to come up and check......”
“Eh? Why is the door open......”
Walking over, Baxter found that the bedroom door was wide open, and coming in he was shocked to stumble upon the sultry scene on the sofa.
Clara immediately rolled off Ethan and ran out with her head down.
“Ethan, I didn’t mean it.” Baxter realized what he had done and touched the back of his head awkwardly. “Who would have thought it would be so dark......”
Ethan scowled, “There is nothing that I need your help with. Get lost.”
