Charlie held in his hand the snacks and drink bought for Elsa and her roommates. He lowered his head slightly, and his heavy bangs covered his eyes. He was lost in thought seemingly and was so absorbed that he didn't notice Elsa standing at the door of the building.
The dim light left a long shadow of Charlie's figure on the ground, giving the appearance that he was lonely.
Elsa came downstairs hurriedly and planned to grill him about the photos that the girls had mentioned. However, when she saw him standing there quietly, she forgot to react and stood still in a trance.
She always found that Charlie was the lively type, at least in front of her. To other people he was gentle, polite, cultivated like a noble, and he was good at studying and sports. He was an all-rounder.
However, according to Elsa's past experience, Charlie was mean and nasty. He often took great pleasure in teasing her. Elsa's memory and thoughts of Charlie were that of an unforgettable nightmare. The only thing that she had appreciated about him was that he was handsome.
For example, that kind of picture in Charlie's hands... It was a nightmare growing up with her, and she never wanted to relive those memories again.
Elsa finally remembered the reason why she came downstairs. With a determined look on her baby face, she rushed towards him. However, when she was three to five steps away from him, she became spiritless just like a deflating balloon and lost her nerve.
Charlie raised his head slowly, and when he saw Elsa, a warm smile crept to his lips. Elsa's heart melted when she saw Charlie's beautiful eyes. They were so irresistible, and nobody could turn away from them. When you gazed into them, it was as if you had fallen into a pool of tranquility and they were so mesmerizing.
"You're here three minutes earlier than I expected. " Charlie's smile was lethally attractive. He was good looking but not in the rough and tough way. He had a tenderness that made others feel comfortable around him, and he gave the impression that he was harmless. However, Charlie was anything but harmless.
Elsa went to him meekly, she felt like weeping but had no tears. She really wanted to be a tough lady and give him a piece of her mind, but when it came to the crunch, she didn't have the courage to do it. Facing Charlie, she was frustrated. Even when they were children, she felt inferior to him. Since she knew that he was a prominent role in the game, when she saw Charlie dressed in school uniform standing before her, his avatar, the famous Silent Sorrow, who dressed in white like a celestial being yielding a sword flashing blue lights also flashed in her mind. She had mixed feelings when facing him.
"Have you been thinking about how to address your husband?" Charlie said in a low voice with a cheeky smile.
"Who is thinking about how to call you, husband?" Elsa retorted automatically. When she saw the arrogant smirk on his face, she stepped forward and kicked him angrily in the shin. Then she snatched the bag from his hand and gave a little snort before turning on her heels and heading back to the building again.
When he saw her reaction, Charlie's smile only got bigger. He didn't feel the pain from the kick at all and called out. "Elsa, remember to practice how to call your hubby. I won't accept it if you just call me 'husband' online !"
Elsa stopped and turned back to him. She hollered, "I said, that's what I won't call..."
"Won't call me what?"
"—Husband!" Elsa blurted out.
"Hmm, good girl," Charlie said, feeling pleased with himself because he unwittingly got her to call him hubby. He wore a broad smile. "Go ahead, darling. Hurry upstairs back to your dorm."
