Edgar was a capable man. He was very appealing to women because he was both noble-minded and handsome. Most importantly, Edgar had a charming personality. Although he appeared to be a very tough teacher, he still had many female fans.
Maggie's eyes darkened with jealousy when she looked at the girls eagerly chatting among themselves about Edgar. The corner of her mouth twitched slightly, and it seemed that she had thought of some idea. Maggie was one of the tougher girls that the other students dared not provoke. Even though she was like that, she was still easy to get along with so she wasn't planning on doing anything evil.
After giving it a little thought, Maggie took out her cell phone and quickly typed out a message. She had a slight smile on her face, and her eyes gleamed with something akin to trickery with a hint of secrecy.
Edgar had been talking with the headmaster when his phone vibrated in his pocket, but he ignored it and continued to talk. When it was about ten minutes before his class would start, he left the headmaster's office. As he stepped out of the office, he took his mobile to check the message.
It said, "I didn't realize that you were such a popular man and would be so warmly welcomed by the students after just meeting them for the first time."
Edgar read the message with a faint smile at the corner of his mouth. Maggie didn't write a message to blame Edgar for hiding the truth from her about teaching at the school. Instead, she told him about the fans that he had and joked with him about it.
Although Maggie joked with Edgar, he knew very well that Maggie's meaning was by no means that simple.
Tompson stood in the middle of Rotary Garden that was in the center of S City. With his eyes slightly closed, he ignored the noisy traffic and car horns. All he had on his mind was the sentence result that his father received this morning. As he had expected, what happened had been so grave that it was impossible to fix. They should all know that no one should be allowed to break the law, and this was the bottom line. Once a person wanted to take a risk and defied the law, he or she would be put in jail for the crime.
Tompson had a cynical smile on his lips, but for those who knew him, they would know that he was pretending to be cold to hide his pain. Everyone thought that he was so indifferent and that nothing could affect him. He gave the appearance of being a strong-minded man that could survive any difficulty. However, the truth was that he was very fragile inside. It was just that he didn't want to expose his vulnerability to others.
As the biting icy cold wind swept across his face, Tompson slowly opened his eyes. He gazed around at the passing vehicles with the sly teasing smile that he usually wore. S City was his hometown, and he had lived here for many years since he was just a little kid. However, the time had come where he had to say goodbye to it.
Tompson withdrew his sight with no expression on his face, then he turned and left. He didn't bring any belongings with him, not even his thoughts. It was as though he wanted to forget everything about this city.
