After her dinner with Sienna, Summer returned to Brookhaven Estates with a complicated feeling in her heart.

When she opened the door, she saw the man lying lazily on the sofa, dressed in a gray shirt. One arm rested behind his head while the other draped across his forehead. His long legs were casually crossed at the edge of the couch.

Hearing the door open, Fraser slowly lifted his hand, lazily peeling open his eyes. His dark pupils were as deep as the ocean. his long lashes slightly drooping. His half–awake gaze carried an unintentional hint of desire. Standing at the doorway, Summer was caught off guard, crashing straight into his penetrating stare.

For a moment, the air seemed to freeze. The two of them silently locked eyes, neither speaking a word.

The bedroom light was off. Only the faint glow of moonlight seeped in through the balcony.

Summer couldn’t clearly see his features, but she could feel his intense gaze pulling her in, rendering her unable to move. The only sounds in the house were their slow, even breaths and the ticking of the clock against the wall.

After a while, Fraser lazily sat up, leaning back on the sofa, his arms resting casually on either side.

Summer bent slightly, reaching down to remove her heels and switch into slippers. As she bent over, the curve of her slender, delicate waist was unintentionally revealed.

“I never agreed to stay here last night.”

Fraser’s gaze was locked onto her every movement. His eyes darkened, his voice turning husky and seductive. “So I was just being delusional?”

Summer replied flatly, “I just don’t like staying in unfamiliar houses.”

The house wasn’t particularly large. Yet, even just sitting in the living room. Fraser’s tall frame and presence made the space feel suffocating.

Summer finished changing her shoes and hesitated. Should she walk past him directly and head to her room, or should she just ignore him completely?

In the end, she decided to walk right past him. But just as she did, he suddenly reached out and caught her fingers. His fingertips were hot. The moment they touched her cooler skin, a jolt of electricity shot through her veins, sending a wave of heat straight to her chest.

Summer instinctively pulled away. “Fraser.”

Fraser exerted a bit more force, pulling her directly in front of him. His legs remained lazily spread apart, and she was now standing between them. Fraser tilted his head up, his eyes locked onto her as he said, “Summer, you’re upset

Summer blinked, her long lashes fluttering like butterfly wings. “And which eye of yours saw that I was upset?”

Fraser slowly stood up. His towering frame instantly cast an overwhelming pressure. He tapped a finger against his chest. “Right here. I can see it crystal clear. Tell me, who made you unhappy? I’ll handle them for you.”

Summer lowered her gaze, avoiding his intense eyes. She said nothing. Fraser reached out and pinched her soft check.

“Fraser” Summer, feeling unsettled, pulled his hand away. “Stop touching me all over”

Fraser arched a brow, the corners of his lips lifting slightly. “Oh Yesterday I could touch you, but today I can’t? My lady, your quite fackle aren’t you?”
