Chapter 171 Buy Them Again

Though Damien took his temper out on Clarissa in bed, he didn‘t make her look bad in public. He didn‘t allow her to submit a claim for the money spent on the equipment, though.

Clarissa felt that perhaps her mother was right. ‘It‘s not easy for a couple to get together. Since our days are numbered, it‘s better for me to enjoy them while I can‘

She wanted to make up with Damien.

After all, he wasn‘t the one who‘d set Joseph up.

A few days later, Clarissa received a parcel from abroad. It was wrapped up nicely.

She knew this was Damien‘s underwear.

She figured that she would probably be back at work by the time the parcel arrived, so she had it delivered to the company.

During lunch, Clarissa put the parcel into a small bag and brought it out with her. She planned on bringing it to Damien‘s office after she was done eating.

“What did you buy?” Lily asked when she saw Clarissa holding something.

“I bought something for him.”

“Who? President Lawrence? What is it?”

“Underwear.”

Lily tutted. “You could‘ve just had it delivered to your house, yet you chose to have it delivered to the company to show us singles up.” She gave Clarissa a look.

“You don‘t get it.” Clarissa was afraid that the delivery service would disturb Grandpa Lawrence if she had them deliver it to the villa. On the other hand, if the parcel were to be temporarily stored somewhere, she would forget to collect it.

“Hurry up and give it to him. He‘ll be overjoyed.”

Clarissa paused mid–meal. Would he?

“Should we go and drop it off during lunch while he‘s out?” she asked Lily.

“What‘s up with that? Why do you have to wait till he‘s not around?”

“I don‘t want to see him!”

“You still have to sleep with him even if you don‘t want to see him.”

“We don‘t talk in bed.” Clarissa thought about how little they‘d talked over the past few days.

He seemed to be taking his anger out on her, while she was doing her best to soothe him.

Clarissa went to give Damien his underwear on her own.

She guessed that he had gone out for lunch, so she pushed his office door open sneakily.

“What are you doing?” Damien frowned when he saw her head suddenly pop in.
