Chapter 190 Damien Would Hit Someone
When the boy walked out of New East Corporation, a car was waiting for him by the corner.
Madelynn had made sure to hail a taxi instead of taking her own car here.
She and Connie sat in the backseat together.
“How did it go?” Madelynn looked at the boy with a mixture of excitement and nervousness.
“I said the things you told me to,” he said.
“How did they react?” Connie was even more excited. She couldn‘t wait to find out how Damien would react upon finding out that his wife was the daughter of a call girl.
“The lady kept crying, and the man was really mad,” the boy said.
Madelynn and Connie were elated.
“Are you going to pay me as you said?” he asked Madelynn.
She took 200 dollars out of her pocket and handed it to the boy with little hesitation.
“We have to strike while the iron‘s hot. Since they only got married for Grandpa Lawrence‘s sake, we have to go tell him right now.” Madelynn checked the time.
She had already familiarized herself with Clarissa and Damien‘s schedule. She didn‘t know what they were up to after work, but they would only leave the company an hour after getting off work. It was currently 5:40 p.m., so they probably would only leave after some time.
Madelynn ordered the taxi driver to take them to Hill Villa.
Inside the house, Grandpa Lawrence was eating alone.
Connie didn‘t get out of the car, choosing to wait there instead. She was afraid that Clarissa would find out she and Madelynn were in cahoots.
andpa, where‘s Damien and Clarissa?” Madelynn asked.
“Oh, Damien called me earlier and said he and Clarissa were eating out,” Grandpa Lawrence said absent–mindedly. “You can have a seat and wait for them.”
Madelynn sat down on the sofa and started chatting with him.
“Grandpa, I went to New East Corporation earlier: Damien wasn‘t there, so I left. I heard the employees gossiping about something...” She deliberately trailed off here, as if it was hard for her to utter the remainder of her sentence.
“Huh? Why have you stopped? Tell me what you heard. I‘m not an outsider,” Grandpa Lawrence said amicably.
When he was done eating, he joined Madelynn on the sofa.
At the same time, he sent Damien a WhatsApp message.
Grandpa: (When are you coming back? Madelynn‘s here.)
Damien: (Soon.)
Grandpa: [How much longer?)
If it was because of her, how was Madelynn going to talk her way out of this?
She wanted to leave, but Damien and Clarissa had already entered the villa.
“Grandpa? What‘s wrong?” the two cried out at the same time.
Grandpa Lawrence was slumped sideways on the sofa as he pointed at Madelynn. “S She She told me that Clary‘s biological mother was a call girl! I was so angry, ...”
“I...” Madelynn couldn‘t think of anything to defend herself.
She used to think that Grandpa Lawrence was an amicable old man. Why was he suddenly pointing fingers at her?
“You!” Damien‘s frosty gaze landed on Madelynn instantly,
“I… I didn‘t!” Damien asked Clarissa to help Grandpa Lawrence up, and then told Mrs. Faber to call the doctor.
After that, he approached Madelynn and gave her a tight slap.
The sound out loud and crispy clear.
Clarissa, who had been helping Grandpa Lawrence up, shuddered at the harshness of the
slap.
She never expected that Damien would actually lay his hands on someone. A woman, no less!
