Chapter 221 Leaving

Lily and Landon went to see Clarissa off when it was time for her to leave the country,

She hadn’t seen Damien since the day she took the morning after pill.

She didn’t miss him, either.

Clarissa buried Theresa in the deepest part of her heart and put a smile on to show the outside world.

She had never left the country before. This was her first time,

Damien had already found her a university, but she wasn’t going to go there. She had secretly applied to another university’s finance faculty. If she wanted to get her master’s, she had to attend a one-year preparatory course beforehand. She would take three or four years to complete her master’s.

By then, she would be twenty-eight years old.

She would give him enough time and space to find someone new.

At that time, he would be looking forward to kicking her to the curb. “Clarissa, don’t forget to keep in touch with us,” Lily said worriedly. “Alright, alright. Don’t worry,” Clarissa said. Damien’s car was parked a distance away from the airport. He watched Clarissa walk into the airport without even looking back.

She looked very happy.

On the plane, Clarissa couldn’t help thinking about everything that had happened over the past year. If not for the strange circumstances leading to them getting married, she would perhaps still be struggling to make ends meet, but at least Theresa would be alive. Nobody could predict the future, though. How could she have known that her mother would die such an untimely death?

When Clarissa got to Emmeria, she immediately got busy applying for her course and finding herself a place to stay.

She figured she would probably be able to forget her sorrows once she was busy.
