Chapter 33 Acting Coquettish Is Tried and Tested

Damien called his subordinate to inquire about Clarissa’s mother’s condition.

He also specifically asked his assistant to look into what happened on the day Clarissa decided to marry him.

The assistant said that Clarissa’s mother had a buildup of phlegm in the lungs that day. Thus, Clarissa needed to pay 60,000 dollars in addition to the hospitalization fee.

Initially, Clarissa refused to marry Damien, but she later agreed to liis proposal, Damien finally knew the reason for her sudden change in attitude.

She needed the money.

“How is Lily’s mother’s cooking?” Damien sat on the sofa and casually asked Clarissa.

The excuse that Clarissa came up with for her absence today was that she went to Lily’s house for dinner.

Lily lived in the suburbs of Genovia and went liome every weekend.
