Chapter 333 Can You Stop Worrying?
Being at home alone, time went by slowly for Clarissa, like heavy chains dragging on the ground.
Damien, who was at work, kept looking at his wristwatch as well.
Neither expected time to move in such an excruciatingly slow fashion.
It wasn’t until six in the evening did Damien finish his work and finally returned home.
Clarissa shot up to answer the door the moment she heard the sound of keys jangling.
“You’re back!” Clarissa said, eyes twinkling with happiness.
“Yes, I’m back.” Damien caressed Clarissa’s head. After removing his shoes, he entered the house and had dinner with her.
In the past, Mrs. Faber never felt like she was interfering with their relationship while working around the house. This time, she had the urge to hide somewhere so the lovebirds could spend some quality time together.
She had an inkling they would’ve been kissing each other if she wasn’t there.
In the past, Mrs. Faber worked at a magazine publishing company as an editor. However, she quit her job after the company went bankrupt. Coincidentally, her husband thought it was better for him to work as a farmer in the countryside. So, her family moved to Genovia. Mrs. Faber had tried to opt for an editor role at other companies, but the industry wasn’t thriving back then. So, she stayed at home as a full-time mother for a few years before re-entering the workforce once her son attended high school. As an educated woman who liked cooking, Mrs. Faber’s resume caught Damien’s attention. Since then, Mrs. Faber had been working for the Lawrence family. She had been under their employment for a few years.
Looking at the heartwarming scene, Mrs. Faber was happy that Damien had finally found himself a suitable partner to spend the rest of his life with.
“Here, have some fish” Damien picked up a piece of fish for Clarissa.
“Thank you. Have some soup. You must be tired after a whole day of work.” Clarissa ladled a bowl of soup for Damien in return.
They were so absorbed in each other that it almost seemed like they didn’t even realize that Mrs. Faber was in the room.
Looking at the love birds exchanging looks of affection, Mrs. Faber felt embarrassed sitting beside them.
Damien and Clarissa went back to their room hurriedly after dinner.
The moment they closed the door, Damien pressed Clarissa against the door and kissed her passionately.
They were only separated for a few hours, but for some reason, it felt like they had been separated for years.
She didn’t want to spend another minute without him.
Clarissa looked at the furniture inside the house. Knowing that he had hand-picked them by himself and there were traces of him using the furniture, this house felt like home to her. Everything just felt right when she was with him.
“Do you miss me?” Damien whispered into Clarissa’s ears.
“I really miss you.”
Damien pulled Clarissa to the bedside and kissed her once again.
