Chapter 357 Making Fun of Her Bachelor’s Degree Penelope welcomed Clarissa and Lily in a friendly manner at Ornate Square. As expected, the pearl necklace was missing from Clarissa’s neck today.
Penelope didn’t ask Clarissa any questions.
They chatted while walking across the square, “Over there is the CEO of Guerilla Films. That’s his wife standing next to him. His wife’s a major player in the industry, you know? Not only is she a real estate tycoon, but she’s also a PhD holder who graduated from Damwood University. That woman is the heiress of Spire Corporation. Her background’s even more impressive; she’s a valedictorian who graduated from Jaires University. She’s a powerful career woman who doesn’t need any man in her life. Then, that’s Mr. Gremnel from Funmedia. His wife may not have a profession, but he still entrusts all of his money to her. The reason is because his wife is a professor at the University of Finance. Nothing can escape her attention when it comes to money. Aren’t they amazing?” Penelope introduced those people to Clarissa as if she was trying to prove a point.
Clarissa started to understand the reason Penelope invited her here.
Penelope would only make fun of one thing when it came to Clarissa; her bachelor’s degree in the past she did the same, and now, she continued the tradition
Clarissa just smiled at her as if she wasn’t affected by the introduction at all
“By the way. You know Dennis Peterson, right? The guy whose wife cheated on him and attempted to murder him? She’s carrying her sentence outside of jail right now because of her pregnancy.” Clarissa knew that very well, so she nodded
“His wife’s just a college graduate. What an unsavory woman!” Penelope commented in disgust
“Looks like we aren’t suited to attend this banquet since we’re so uneducated. Everyone else outranks us here.” Lily knew what Penelope was trying to do as well. The latter did her best to make fun of Clarissa and Lily’s educational background
“What’s wrong?” Penelope seemed like she finally caught on to Lily’s statement. “Hmm? What does this have to do with you guys?”
She looked very innocent as if she wasn’t talking about them at all.
Clarissa pinched Lily’s hand silently. It was a hint for Lily to stop talking like that, because it would make her out as an unseemly woman.
