Chapter 384 One-Track Mind
Clarissa kept Neil‘s photos on her phone. They were much too precious to be deleted.
She tried her best to suppress her longing and curiosity. She didn‘t ask Mrs. Faber for any more photos
If she asked for more, she was sure Damien would inevitably think of more ways to torment her. It could be even worse than taking nude photos!
And so, Clarissa turned her attention to her studies.
Christmas was just around the corner. The students were given a few days off to celebrate.
Despite the holidays, Clarissa spent all her time studying. She rarely stepped out of her room, and she didn‘t go back to Merania.
Damien started to wonder whether she didn‘t want to come back, or whether she couldn‘t...
Was she staying away solely because he had told her to leave and never come back? Neil was here, though. As a mother, could she bear to just leave her child? And... When had she ever been so obedient?
He started to think. In the past, if Damien ignored her messages, she definitely would‘ve asked Mrs. Faber what had happened to him. This time, there hadn‘t even been a peep out of her.
Merania didn‘t have any Christmas holidays, so Damien called Lily to his office.
“Tell me what happened the night before Clarissa left the country.” Damien was seated behind his desk, and threw his lighter on it.
Apart from fear, Lily was also surprised. To think Damien had only thought about asking this so long after Clarissa had left. “Nothing happened,” she said, a little diffidently. “Penelope made fun of us and said we weren‘t well–educated.”
“There‘s something else.” Damien stared at her pointedly. “Spit it out, and I‘ll give you a raise to bring your salary to a deputy director‘s level. I‘ll also promote you to become a project manager.”
