Love in Twilight novel (Clarissa and Damien) novel Chapter 483

A while later, Damien went back upstairs. Clarissa, who was playing with Neil happily, turned sour the moment he appeared.

“What’s with your face?” Damien turned to Neil. “Neil, time for bed.”

Neil didn’t want to interrupt the two, so he promptly agreed.

Damien made a beeline for Clarissa and, without warning, pulled her into a tight hug.

They were so close, Clarissa could hear his heart pounding loudly in his chest. His strange actions confused her greatly.

“I’ll take you to the hospital tomorrow, okay?” Damien’s tone was uncharacteristically soft.

“There’s no need for that.” Clarissa rejected him instinctively.

Even if she wanted to go, she would never allow Damien to follow her.

“Don’t force yourself,” he said.

Damien kissed Clarissa passionately that night, just as he had done the night before.

Clarissa wondered if he would go berserk as he often did, but he simply held her hands.

“I won’t touch you,” he assured.

“Are you sure?” she scoffed.

Damien didn’t answer, and continued kissing her.

The pain didn’t subside even when the morning came. In fact, it got even worse. Damien brought Clarissa to the hospital that Bethany worked at.

Bethany was an obstetrician. Clarissa was curious as to how Bethany was doing at this moment.

Damien waited outside while Clarissa was in the middle of her checkup.

“Clarissa?!” Bethany had to do a double take. “Where have you been all this time?”

“I took a Master's Degree.” Clarissa felt slightly awkward. She did cut off all possible contact with her friends for the last three years, after all.

“I know, I know. Anyway, I have something to tell you after your checkup.”

“What’s up?” Clarissa lay on the bed, confused. She hadn’t seen Bethany for years. What was it that Bethany wanted to say?

“Hello, Caleb.”

“Miss Johnson! Lisa and Rem came back yesterday, but why didn’t you? Did anything happen?” Caleb sounded very concerned.

“Oh, it’s nothing. I’m here with my son. I’ll be back soon.”

“Alright, if you say so.” Caleb ended the call.

“Who’s that? He has a nice voice,” Bethany commented.

“By the way, are you still single?” Clarissa asked. “You’re almost in your thirties.”

“Let’s not talk about that. My mom’s pestering me to get married, but I’m way too busy for that.” Bethany began to complain. “Never mind! Anyway, here’s your report. You should get going.”

“This is my new number, by the way. Let’s keep in touch,” Clarissa said.

“Okay, okay. Come back when you’re pregnant again.”

Clarissa was speechless.
