Damien took Neil’s left hand while Clarissa took his right. This was Neil’s first time holding hands with both parents, so it was natural for him to be overjoyed.

Once they reached Grandpa Lawrence’s house, Mrs. Faber was already in the midst of preparing dinner. She barely spoke a word to them. Clarissa knew the old woman disliked her at the moment. After Neil exited the room, she took a bath right away.
