Love in Twilight novel (Clarissa and Damien) novel Chapter 524

Clarissa had lost to Damien in such a wretched way. The moment he seduced her, she couldn’t help but crumble in front of him. She wanted nothing more than to slap herself in the face right now. How could she be so stupid as to yearn for him again?

Clarissa put on her clothes in a haphazard fashion, but her clammy skin made it difficult for her.

Someone clasped her bra for her at that moment. Clarissa noticed Damien standing behind her from the corner of her eye.

“I’m going home tonight. Bethany’s still waiting for me at home. Besides, Mrs. Faber doesn’t want to see me right now,” she said.

“Okay,” he replied.

“Why don’t you find another woman?” Clarissa asked.

Damien stood behind Clarissa while adjusting her clothes for her. She tried to pull a sweater over her head, but due to her clammy skin, he had to help her pull the sweater down.

Finally, Clarissa was done wearing her clothes. She pulled her hair from beneath the sweater and flipped it outward.

The scene stunned Damien.

“Who would’ve thought I’d fall in love with a pretentious and ungrateful woman like you?”

Clarissa bit her lower lip, choosing to not say anything.

“Do you have a hair dryer?” she asked, turning her head around.

“I thought you don’t have the habit of blow-drying your hair,” Damien replied in a clipped tone.

Suddenly, he felt quite frustrated. He remembered the moments they shared together in the past. He knew very well that Clarissa wasn’t one to blow-dry her hair. Then, he recalled the days they lived together. After that, she suddenly vanished into thin air. A few years passed without her company. When they finally met again, she was already 28 years old, whereas he was 36 years old. Heck, he was going to enter his forties soon. When he first got to know her, he was only a 30-year-old man in his prime.

Damien also questioned himself many times in the past. Why couldn’t he find another woman to be with? Clarissa had so many bad habits. Not to mention, she was an ungrateful wench. Yet every time a beautiful woman threw herself into his arms, he couldn’t help but think of her. He would think that the new woman was either uglier than Clarissa, or didn’t have a personality that matched hers. Clarissa was the type to abandon her family for the sake of pursuing higher education. No one else could match this determination of hers.

Gradually, Clarissa became the threshold that Damien used to judge other people. To him, she was a tall and majestic mountain no one could compare to.

“Well, I’m going to leave now. It’s been snowing heavily…” Clarissa was about to say that there had been a huge snowfall, so the weather was very cold.

“You’re not allowed to leave!” Damien snarled out in a scratchy voice. His voice was low and hoarse. He made it sound like he would swallow Clarissa alive if she were to leave.
