Chapter 69 He Wanted You to keep the Baby Saturday, while Clarissa and Lily were shopping, they happened upon Genovia’s largest bookstore called The Owlery. It was a four-story bookstore that looked even more glamorous than most shopping malls. It was also frequented by a lot of social media influencers, Clarissa wanted to buy a book regarding financial and cost management along with some other workbooks.

If she could pass the final examination next year, she could finally be certified as an accountant.

The moment Clarissa and Lily entered the store, they saw that there was a long line inside. It seemed like an event was being held. They closed in the crowd and noticed that Joseph Moore was holding a fan meeting “Mr. Moore?” Clarissa was surprised. Clad in a grey cardigan, his fashion sense complemented the current season, which was the beginning of autumn. “Clarissa? Fancy seeing you here!” While signing books, Joseph shifted luis gaze to his watch and said, “Why don’t you guys go shopping for now? I still have lifteen minutes before wrapping it up. I’ll meet you later.” Clarissa lieaded to her section and chose the books she wanted. Lily bought a novel and muttered, “The books here are so expensive.”

Aster Joseph’s event ended, he approached the ladies with two books in his hands. “Here, for the two of you.”

Clarissa reached for one of them and saw the title, “An Accountant’s Journey”.

“You wrote this?” Clarissa looked at Joseph with awe and admiration.

Yes.”

Clarissa flipped through the last page of the book and saw the memo he had specifically written for her: ‘May your dreams come true in life.’ “Thank you so much, Mr. Moore.”

To avoid an awkward conversation, none of them brought up the incident that happened at the hotel the last time they met.

“I have to return to my office for a while. Do you two want to tag along?” he asked as he looked at his wristwatch.

Though Joseph was a busy man, he still hoped to catch up with them.

It had always been Clarissa’s life goal to work at an accounting firm. Excited, she agreed almost immediately. She didn’t have anything to do, anyway.

So, the two ladies followed Joseph into his car.

During their journey to the firm, Joseph said he would give Clarissa his notes regarding financial and cost management, of which he had highlighted all the important points and even inserted some explanations. He even reassured Clarissa that she was a talented student ind that she would definitely pass the final exam if she put in the cffori.

“You can work at my firm once you pass the exam,” Joseph remarked casually

All of a sudden, Clarissa thought of Nicole, who liad started work even though she had yet lo reccive her certification

“Can I work at your firm without being certified?” Clarissa asked.

Lily nudged Clarissa’s arm and shot her a penetrating glare. Wliat she was trying to convey was quite obvious, ‘Even though you’re fighting with Damien right now, you shouldn’t treat your job at New East Corporation as a joke.’
