Chapter 86 When Do You Plan On Having kids? The renovations for the audit department were done, and Lucas had officially assumed his position. Every day, there would be people having interviews there. Some of them had compdelat their masters, and some had even completed their doctorates.

Clarissa went to Lucas’s office with her resume.

Lucas looked to be around forty, and he was an easygoing and humble man. He was quite fluent in English, so the two spoke to each other without difficulty.

“Miss Johnson, you can pass your resume directly to the human resource department. I just started here, so I’m not too sure about the situation with the employees,” Lucas said.

“To tell you the truth, Mr. Smith, 1 submitted my resume to them earlier, but they rejected me. I really want to work in auditing, though. I graduated at the top of my class, and I was a scholarship holder. Furthermore, I’m working on becoming a certified public accountant, and l’m currently working in the finance department. Perhaps you could just take a look at my resume,” Clarissa said calmly.

Lucas hummed in acknowledgment and started going through Clarissa’s resume. She was one of the few people who had brought a German resume, which left him with a great impression. “Do you speak German, Miss Johnson?” he asked. “No, I don’t.” “Then, your resume…” Clarissa had no choice but to say, “My husband translated it for me.” She didn’t mention Damien’s name for fear that it would surprise Lucas. “You’re married?” “Yes, I got married not too long ago.” “When do you plan on having kids? Sorry to ask such a personal question, but that’s just the way things are.” Lucas spread his hands. Clarissa knew that most women would get asked this question when they were looking for work. Just as Lucas had said, that was the way things were. Thus, she wasn’t taken aback by this. She said, “I don’t plan on having kids within the next five years.” Grandpa looked pretty healthy, so there probably wouldn’t be any issue with him making it past the next five years. If she wanted to have kids, it would have to wait till after she and Damien got divorced. After that, she would have to find another boyfriend, which was a long way off. She probably wouldn’t be having kids within the next ten years.

Lucas gave it some thought. “Well then, Miss Johnson. Please come for the written test next Friday. You can leave your resume here with me.”
