I raised my voice, drowning his out, and said, "Are you resorting to physical violence? You must be feeling guilty!"

May startled me by suddenly sitting down on the floor. She started slapping her thigh as she wailed, "Oh my God, how can a man like this exist? Leonard Nell, don't you remember all the promises you made when you slept with me?"

The security guards seemed to have been stunned by May. They hesitated, afraid to grab her.
