Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia) novel Chapter 273

Two Italians shrugged with a gesture of resignation and finally said, "Alright then, goodbye."

Dagmar translated for Sanderson, "Mr. Delaney, it seems they don't want to disclose the reason. They just said 'let's talk next time.'"

Next time?

Sanderson was utterly baffled!!

Did this mean the deal was off the table?

How could things have taken such a sudden turn?

After all, when Sanderson had landed this project, there had been voices of dissent within the company, claiming it was a pipe dream.

Sanderson thought, how could anyone know the outcome without giving it a shot?

He had been looking forward to using this project as a slap in the face to those old-timers at the company who doubted him! Everything had been going smoothly, the price had been agreed upon, and they were supposed to sign the contract today. How could it all fall apart so suddenly?

He watched in disbelief as the two men walked away.

Lost in translation, he didn't know how to make sense of this, so he turned to Dagmar, "Dagmar, quick, follow them out, ask them what's really going on!"

Dagmar nodded, "Will do."

As Dagmar chased after the Italians, Everard suddenly spoke up, "I'll go take a look too."

Sanderson nodded anxiously.

With Everard and Dagmar gone, Cordelia tried to console Sanderson, "Dad, if this deal didn't work out, there will be others. Don't worry."

Sanderson glanced at Cordelia, who he thought didn't understand the magnitude of running the entire company. With factions from Kermit and Steward within, he couldn't just start his tenure with massive layoffs; he had to show tangible profits to gain their respect.

But if this juicy deal slipped through his fingers, what ground would he have to stand on?

Sanderson frowned.

Cordelia stealthily followed Everard and Dagmar, catching up with the Italians in the parking lot.

Dagmar attempted to salvage the situation with an offer in Italian, "Even if we can't make a deal, how about a drink to part on good terms?"

The Italians declined, "No need, our time is precious. We thought Mr. Delaney was more generous, but he seemed quite stingy about the shipping costs!"

Dagmar sighed, "Mr. Delaney was considering the costs."

The Italians exchanged looks, "So there's no chance?"

Dagmar shook her head.

As they headed toward their car, Dagmar turned back towards the brightly lit banquet hall. The light spilling through the windows cast an eerie glow on her smile.
