Although Mr. J hadn't shown anything in front of William, William was sharp enough to sense that something was off.
So when he returned, before Emilia could say a word, he asked, "Mr. J doesn't trust me, does he?"
She wasn't surprised that he had figured it out without her saying anything. He was incredibly perceptive.
She nodded and repeated everything Mr. J had told her.
After hearing that, William was silent for a moment before he asked, "If dating isn't enough to earn his trust, what about becoming husband and wife?"
Emilia froze as she realized what he was implying.
He continued, "We can register our marriage. I'll transfer all my assets to your name. That should be enough to show him I won't back out halfway."
Emilia was already flustered to hear that he wanted to marry her, and now he was saying he would give her everything he owned.
Their contractual marriage would benefit him too, especially in helping Noah let go of his fixation on her, but that was it. It was clear he was doing this purely for her, and now he was offering her everything.
Just when Emilia recovered from the shock and was about to refuse, William said, "Please don't feel like you're taking advantage of me or let it become a burden. We'll sign a contract. When we divorce, you'll be returning everything to me."
The pressure in her chest instantly eased, and she let out a sigh of relief.
"Okay," she agreed.
