"Christian, have you eaten breakfast? I made it in the morning." Lexie stood by the CEO's office door with a thermal insulation box in hand. Her docile and obedient appearance was filled with anticipation.
"I've already eaten. You eat it by yourself." Lexie said.
Lexie clenched her five fingers tightly. Even though she was unwilling, she still did not reveal a single bit of it.
She carried the lunchbox and turned to look at the man who had already sat down and started to worked. She then asked hesitantly: "Christian, are you still mad about last night?"
Christian turned on his laptop. He wore a neatly dressed suit today, and now sat there with a noble and cold look on his face.
Without even looking at her, he calmly said. "It has nothing to do with you. Go back to work."
Lexie's eyes flashed with a strange look. She pursed her red lips, suddenly walked to the front of the desk and said: "You suddenly resigned from Jafari Hand. Why?"
He could not resign an executive for no reason. As the CEO, he had to give the company's top executives a reasonable explanation.
All the employees of Polygon Group was informed of this by email early in the morning.
Christian tapped his fingers on the keyboard and said casually, "You don't understand what I meant in the email?"
Lexie frowned and asked: "It says that he abused his authority, and that for his own interests, he illegally leaked out the company's secrets...Why did this happen all of sudden? I mean, no matter what, he is still an old staff of our company. Aren't you afraid of hurt others' feelings if you just drive him away like that?"
As an employee of the Polygon Group, everyone had the right to ask questions, which was a human right. Hearing Lexie's question, Christian didn't look impatient at all. He was just expressionless, and his tone was even more casual.
"How are you so sure it was sudden?"
Lexie's face changed slightly.
Not suddenly?
So he had started investigation in secret?
Fear suddenly surged out from her heart. Did he discover something between Jafari and her...?
She only knew that there was no more news about Jafari after he was sent to the Police yesterday, and she was told that she had no right to visit him. At that time, she thought that it was only an attempted adultery which wasn't a huge crime. So why she couldn't visit him?
Lexie's face gradually turned pale.
As if he didn't see this, Christian dialled a number as he said, "Regarding this matter, there will be detailed documents be released in the future. You can go back first."
Lexie then went back to her senses as she nodded frantically, "Oh... Alright, I'll go back first."
After exiting the office, her face completely lost all colour. She stood at the door for a few seconds with a flustered expression, and then she quickly walked towards the observation deck.
It was a sunny day, and the morning wind was blowing through her curly hair. But Lexie's expression did not reveal any comfort, only panic and a faint sense of anxiety. She then made a phone call.
After the phone was connected, she anxiously said in a low voice: "Dad, something has happened. As for Jafari's matter, please don't let anyone defend or visit him. Just don't forget about this thing at all."
