Chapter 14
Andrew extended his hand, clearly signaling for Madelyn to hand over her phone. Alarmed, she stammered, “D–Darling, give me five minutes to deal with it. I promise. you’ll be satisfied.”
“Madelyn Garcia, hand over the phone.” The look in his eyes deepened, and his tone was dangerous.
“Darling, I was wrong. Please trust me.” Earlier, she was too focused on Andrew’s injury to wrap up the loose ends, a decision she regretted.
She would be in trouble if Andrew saw Easton’s call. However, he stubbornly demanded to see her phone. His hand was still extended.
Biting the bullet, she finally turned in her phone. When Andrew took her phone, she grabbed his arm and pleaded, “Um, don’t be angry, okay? You’re the only one heart.”
Then, she closed her eyes and prayed.

Andrew’s eyes narrowed when he saw the caller ID. Madelyn could sense the shift in his mood even with her eyes closed.
When her eyes fluttered open, she saw Andrew getting out of bed stiffly. She trembled at the sight and hugged him from the back. “Darling, I didn’t have the time to remove everything about him. You have to trust my feelings for you.”
“Let go,” he hissed in a deep voice.
Be it in the past or present life, anything related to Easton would certainly set Andrew. off as he regarded Madelyn’s first love as his archenemy.
“I’m not letting go.” Madelyn hugged his waist tight. She couldn’t imagine what would happen if she let go. She immediately squeezed herself into his arms. “Darling!
Andrew grabbed her arm and peeled her off his body. Right as she was about to explain herself with a tearful look, Easton called again. She gritted her teeth at this troublemaker who would only get her into hot water.
Andrew took the call on her behalf, much to her shock. If only she could disappear at this moment! Why did this happen to her?
Easton called to her in a gentle voice, “Maddie.”
She was dumbstruck. Easton and Elena were certainly made for each other. How

could he act so gently after he had insulted her? He should have become an actor.
Upset, Andrew scowled. “It’s me.”
Madelyn tightened his grip on Andrew, feeling like she was near a volcano that might erupt and kill her at any time.
Easton’s breathing grew irregular when he heard Andrew’s voice. He greeted his uncle coldly, “Hey, Uncle Andrew.”
“Glad you recognize your uncle. Don’t you think it’s rather inappropriate to call my wife by her nickname?”
Easton did not back down. He jeered, “Sooner or later, she’ll no longer be your wife. Uncle Andrew, remember the way you forced her to marry you?”
Madelyn wished she could rip Easton into pieces. She frantically shook her head under Andrew’s murderous gaze.
The oblivious Easton continued, “She has been wanting to leave you for years. When
back this time, I’ll help her to-”
“Shut up, Easton Miller! You bastard! Do you think I’m unaware of your relationship with Elena? How dare you reach out to me?”
She cut him off and fired back at him. At first, she had wanted to focus on
reconciliating with Andrew. But since Easton and Elena wanted to stir trouble, she would teach them a lesson.
Silence hung in the air. Then, she snatched her phone and ended the call. Andrew watched as she blocked and deleted Easton’s number.
“Hey-” He immediately covered her mouth when she put a curse on herself. “What nonsense is that?”
