Amella opened the jewelry box and gestured for Ryan to proceed. Her previous bravado was gone. 

Ryan glanced at the box and handed the list to Samuel Sanchez behind him. 

“Please, Mr. Sanchez Senior,”  

Elena and Amelia’s faces paled at the mention of the name, especially when Samuel took the list. 

Samuel placed his box next to the jewelry box. He opened his box, revealing appraisal tools that caught everyone’s eye. 

Even if Amelia and Elena were fools, seeing those tools now confirmed to them that Samuel was indeed the renowned international jewelry appraisal expert they had heard of. 

They didn’t expect the Miller family to invite someone like him. At that thought, both Amelia and Elena gasped in shock. 

Caleb noticed the change in their expressions and furrowed his brow. 

Samuel picked up the jewelry from the box and examined it. 

Before he could even start his tool–assisted examination, he declared to Ryan, “These are all replicas.” 

Amelia and Elena were speechless. Ryan was already in a foul mood. Upon hearing Samuel’s words, he turned his sharp gaze toward Elena and Amella. 

Amelia’s face paled with anger. She felt guilty and didn’t dare to speak. 

However, Elena still refused to give up. She continued to resist. 

“Mr. Sanchez Senior, please examine it carefully. These were all gifts from Mrs. Miller Senior. They can’t be replicas.” 

Her words directly shifted the blame onto Athena. If Samuel insisted the pieces of jewelry were counterfeit, it would imply that the items gifted by Athena were also imitations. 

Ryan glanced sternly at Elena before addressing Samuel. 

“Mr. Sanchez Senior, could you please double–check these items?” 

“Of course,” Samuel replied. 

He took out his tools from his box. 

Time ticked by slowly. 

As Samuel meticulously examined each piece of jewelry, Amelia grew increasingly anxious. She occasionally glanced at Elena, who maintained a calm facade. 

After half an hour, Samuel turned to Ryan and said, “I’ve confirmed that all these items are replicas.” 

Ryan’s breath grew uneven at Samuel’s words. It was now clear to him that Elena and Amelia had swapped the real items, and he was appalled by their audacity. 

Elena had already prepared her next steps when Samuel was appraising the items earlier. 

She showed no signs of guilt. 

She unflinchingly met Ryan’s fierce gaze and said, “These were gifts from Mrs. Miller Senior. How could they be replicas?”

He scowled but didn’t respond directly to Elena. 

Instead, he turned to Samuel and said, “Thank you for your help today, Mr. Sanchez Senior. I’ll have Hudson take you home.” 

After all, this was not a glamorous affair. Previously, Athena’s favoritism towards Elena was well–known in high society. 

With the events unfolding, he felt that the present scene was truly embarrassing. 

Samuel nodded and left.
