Madelyn was confused. Being reborn made it easy to mix up memories from her past life with what was happening now. 

Right now, she and Andrew were still together, and he hadn’t gone to Felasko to get closer to Laura. So, in this life, they were really just former classmates who had a good time together abroad. 

But thinking about what Natalie said about Laura still bothered her. 

Seeing her quiet, Andrew teased, “What’s wrong? Does my darling see our relationship differently?” 

“What do you mean?” Madelyn asked. 

“Why were you crying?” 

Since Andrew and Laura’s relationship hadn’t gone beyond friendship and Andrew hadn’t done anything wrong, why was she so upset? 

His straightforward question caught her off guard. 

Madelyn looked at Andrew, clearly confused. “I was crying because you were going to have lunch with another woman, abandoning me.” 

It seemed like a reasonable reason, right? 

She realized she needed to sort through her memories later since her choices had changed so much. 

She wondered if Andrew thought she was acting strange after what happened in the underground parking garage. But she had really been upset and hurt. 

Andrew gave her a warm smile. “Okay, darling. If that’s how you feel.” 

He gently pinched her cheek, showing his affection and care. 

Madelyn felt really embarrassed about how she had acted earlier. Why was she so worried? As long as she and Andrew stayed married, he wouldn’t get close to Laura. She trusted him. 

“Can we eat now?” Andrew asked, feeling relieved. 

“Yes, we can!” Madelyn answered with a warm smile. 

“You silly girl,” he said kindly.. 

Madelyn finished the beef stew and felt her stomach start to settle. 

The beef stew at Moonlit Restaurant was a specialty. Lily always made sure it was perfect, with tender meat and a rich, savory flavor that 

Madelyn really liked. 

After lunch, Andrew dropped Madelyn off at her workplace. As she was getting out of the car, she leaned in close to him. 

Andrew looked at her and asked, “What’s up?” 

She asked, “Are you still meeting Laura this afternoon?” 

Andrew raised an eyebrow and asked back, “Do you want me not to?” 

She replied, “If it’s about work, then it’s okay.” 

In this lifetime, any meetings with Laura would only be for work, not because of past problems. 

Andrew smiled and, as Madelyn pulled away, he gently held her face and gave her a deep kiss. Then, he smoothed down her slightly messy hair and said, “Be good and go to work.” 

Madelyn nodded and got out of the car. Andrew got out too and handed. her the car keys.
