Chapter 520
When she got closer, she realized that Flint looked different today.
His eyes were bloodshot, and it looked like he did not sleep last night. He was a playboy who cared about his reputation the most. Yet, his suit was wrinkled, and his beard was sloppy. He was holding a cigarette with his fingers. He looked through the corridor before he stared at Adina gloomily
“What‘s wrong with you?” Adina frowned. “What happened this time?”
Every time Flint came to her in Sea City, something would be wrong. She was used to it.
“I heard that you‘re getting engaged?”
When Flint spoke, his voice was incredibly hoarse as if his vocal cords were ruined.
Adina was surprised.
She finally understood why Flint looked like that.
Some things had been said many times before, but clearly, Flint had not been really listening. She pursed her lips and said, “I‘m getting married to Duke. We‘ll be engaged on the sixth of next month, and the wedding won‘t be too long after the engagement. If you have the time, you can stay in Sea City and attend the engagement party before you leave.” Flint chuckled in resignation. He knew that it would be impossible for him to be with Adina, and he had already accepted the fact.
However, when he saw Duke kiss her the day before yesterday, he felt like he had been stabbed in the heart with a knife. He felt so hurt that he did not know what to do.
As a result, he went to the bar and got drunk. It was only after he woke up that he realized Adina had sent him to the hotel.
Whenever he got drunk, she would take him home, throw him to the couch in the living room or throw him in the guest room and let him survive on his own.
During those times, he actually thought that this woman did not respect him at all.
Now that she respected him, she would no longer bring him home anymore.
Since she was getting married, she had a partner whom she would spend the rest of her life with, and she did not want another man to cause a misunderstanding.
