Cordelia’s hand froze in midair before she pulled it back awkwardly.
Zennie knew that she had lost her composure a little. Her phone buzzed with messages—Phil was urging her to drug Cordelia immediately.
Her tears were almost pooling in her eyes as her feet and hands went cold. Her heart ached so much that she could barely hold her phone.
“Zennie, what’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?” Cordelia held her hand. “Oh, you’re so cold!”
“Nothing, I’m fine!” Zennie denied and frantically pulled her hand back.
After adjusting her emotions, she took a few deep breaths and smiled at Cordelia. “Cordelia, I’m buying today, so order whatever you want!”
“You’re still a student. How could I let you buy?” Cordelia chortled. “Is your allowance this month enough?”
Zennie paused and nodded.
Cordelia was running the household now. Although she did her best to be fair, she secretly gave a part of her money to Zennie. The girl’s monthly allowance was even double what she had before Cordelia took over.
“Cordelia, thank you…” Zennie’s voice was low.
“What’s there to thank me about?” Cordelia smiled. “You’re our princess. There’s no fault in spoiling you! Besides…”
She held Zennie’s hand. “We get along so well. As you sis-in-law, I should indulge you more!”
What she said made Zennie’s heart clench badly. She kept sniffing and took a deep breath before she pushed the coffee she ordered to Cordelia.
Cordelia felt her heart drop looking at it. What was supposed to happen had still happened.
