Unexpectedly, Florence smiled at Aurella.

“Ms. Simmons, did you hear that? Mr. Zeller said that he would handle the matter, so your name can finally be cleared.”

“Thank you.” Aurelia was not stupid. She understood the underlying meaning and went along to thank Zachary,

Zachary was dumbfounded and stared at Florence in disbelief. Most of their colleagues did as well.

In bewilderment, Kimberly screamed hysterically, “Mrs. Lynch, what are you talking about?”

Florence glared at Kimberly and rubbed her ears. “It’s too noisy. So your voice was this loud. I thought you only knew how to say ‘dear‘ in a coquettish tone.”

Kimberly’s face turned pale. She knew exactly what Florence was talking about.

But, how did Florence know that she called Jason “dear“? Which man would tell his wife about his ambiguous affair with another woman?

Florence looked past everyone’s gaze and smiled while waving to Aurelia.

Aurelia strode over and immediately adjusted Florence’s shawl for her. It had fallen off her shoulders earlier on.

“Mrs. Lynch, it’s not suitable for you to go out now. You must take care of yourself.”

Florence felt warm because of her care and reached out to grab Aurelia’s hand.

“Ms. Simmons, you saved my daughter and 1, but I haven’t thanked you properly. When I heard that you were slandered, I couldn’t care less about my body. I just wanted to see which blind person is spouting nonsense!

“Jason and I were childhood sweethearts, and we have been married for more than ten years. He’d even share with me what he had eaten in a day. So, how could he have looked for other women?

“It’s just that he can’t handle vixens. They’re all attracted to married men and cry out ‘dear‘ non–stop in the middle of the night–just like those cats in a heat cycle.”
