Lumma’s work phone was turned on twenty-four hours a day. As long as Adam called her, she would answer the phone immediately. She did the same tonight. “Hello, Mr. Hills!”
Lumma had always been polite and respectful when answering the phone. Adam couldn’t even discern her emotions from her tone.
He coughed twice. Lumma immediately asked with concern, “Mr. Hills, did you catch a cold?”
Lumma cared about him as his assistant, not his wife. Adam didn’t want this kind of care from her.
“It’s going to snow. Close the windows.” Adam finally said something unimportant and hung up the phone.
He took out his personal phone again. His three friends in the group mentioned him one by one. [Adam, come out and say something.]
Adam typed a few words. [I want to hold her hand and walk together in the future.]
Jeff: [Great. A man should treat his wife well.]
Callum: [If you need help, tell us at any time.]
George: [When the conference is over, Keeley and I want to treat you and your wife to dinner.]
Adam: [Okay.]
In the next few days, Lumma and Hills Group’s team devoted themselves to the science and technology conference. They had been busy all day and didn’t have much time for meals.
Lumma not only had to be busy with work but also had to pay attention to Adam’s physical condition.
