After making the deal, there was one day left. The three of them had a feast and enjoyed themselves in Coastal City the whole day. They returned to Red Pine City at ten o’clock on Sunday night.
Ruby and Harry were not sure if Lumma was fine. Since the incident, she had learned to hide her emotions.
“What are you doing? Don’t worry about me. I’m fine.” Lumma punched each of them and said, “Let’s go and see the apartments after we receive the copyright money. Let’s buy apartments in the same neighborhood and stay close to each other.”
Harry and Ruby had the same thought. “Yes. We’ll work hard to make money and apartments. We’ll
settle down in Red Pine City and be real citizens here.”
“Go to bed.” Lumma yawned “It’s getting late. I have to go to the company early tomorrow
morning.”
Harry and Ruby said, “Good night.”
Early the next morning, when Lumma just got out of bed, her personal cell phone buzzed on the bedside table. After learning the lesson last week, Lumma turned her private cell phone to vibrating mode.
She fumbled for the phone in a daze, but she didn’t forget the polite words. “Hello, hello!”
An unfamiliar male voice came from the phone, “Ms. Louis, I am Mr. Bergman’s lawyer. My name is Toby Mayers.”
Her husband who had disappeared for over a year suddenly contacted her two days ago and asked for a divorce, and his lawyer called her today. Did anything happen to him?
Could it be that he was in debt and had no money to pay it back? Could it be the relevant parties found out that she was married to him and knew that she was rich, so they wanted her to pay off the debts for him?
