Married to the Boss: A Love in Disguise Chapter 224
“So, Lumma, your idea is for me to agree to him treating us to dinner tonight?”
“Ruby, why would we turn down a free meal at the restaurant we’ve always wanted to go to but haven’t because of the price?”
Lumma felt as though Ruby had tricked her, but she still agreed to have dinner with Adam.
Hedges Restaurant was notoriously expensive, yet it never lacked customers. Reservations had to be made in advance, so Lumma had to use Hills VIP to book a private room.
After securing the restaurant, she still had to deal with checking into the room. Lumma wasn’t familiar with the process, so she followed whatever the property manager told her to do.
Adam, at some point, had come to her side, taken the checklist, and carefully reviewed it for her. He meticulously inspected the items provided by the property management. “You’re missing an access card, so you’ll have to ask property management about it. From now on, they will charge you for it.”
He was helping her with these minor details, but his focus and seriousness were as if he was looking at a billion-dollar contract….
Lumma watched him, feeling a sudden heaviness in her heart. Why was it Adam by her side at this moment, and not Lucas?
“I’m talking to you. What are you thinking about?” Adam’s voice was a bit stern, annoyed that she always seemed distracted when she was with him.
When Adam was angry, Lumma was scared of him. “I-I wasn’t thinking about anything.”
Seeing her fear, Adam softened his voice. “Checking into a room has many important details. A slight oversight can cause big trouble. Any issues found today need to be reported to property management, so they can notify the developer.”
Lumma obediently nodded. “Yes.”
Seeing her obedient, understanding yet somewhat wronged look, Adam couldn’t bring himself to scold her, let alone reprimand her harshly. “Silly girl, why are you upset just because I’m advising you?”
