Chapter 33: The whores in the castle_Part 2

"You’ve eaten enough, Isa. Let’s take a walk around the castle to digest it and make you familiar with the grounds," Rohan said with a humorless smile as he got up from his seat at the head of the table, where he had been watching her eat to the last limit until she could no longer breathe properly.

He would have stopped her from finishing everything had he not seen the slight mischievous glint in her eyes when she accepted attending the banquet as if to get back at him, knowing he did not want to go, and if she refused, the king would not force them to attend, as everything she said would be met by His fucking Royal Majesty after the agreement they had signed to keep her comfortable within Nightbrook.

This banquet might have been staged to welcome his wife, but he knew better than to believe that was the only purpose of it. Being the real heir to the throne of Nightbrook, the current king would find any little excuse to send him back to the asylum to get rid of him. And they knew the asylum was a place that slowly killed a man. If he wasn’t so strong-headed, he would have been long dead, he thought as he watched his bride.

Rohan liked to uncover different layers of a person, and though he knew his wife was somewhat meek and quiet, he could tell under that meekness lay a cunning woman who would challenge him had she not been raised and forced into being what she was now by her parents. Nobody had ever challenged him and walked away alive or with their limbs intact, but his little bunny seemed to have some hidden spirit of disobedience and so much planning going on in that head of hers that he wanted to know. freēwebnovel.com

Did she think he wouldn’t see right through her? If only she knew what she was getting herself into by accepting to attend this banquet she would have thought twice.

Rohan watched as the bunny struggled to stand from her seat while Cordelia had gotten up already, eager to tag along with them.

When Belle clutched her stomach and held the table for support, Rohan smiled and held out his hand. "Here, let me help you," he said, but she turned and glared at his hand and then stood up straight, arranged her front dress, and brushed her fingers into her bangs to cover her forehead properly—something he noticed she did subconsciously, as people had made her believe her scar was hideous when, to him, he never even saw it when he looked at her face.

He knew how humans considered freckles a flaw in a woman, even most of the vampires did, and they used any means to get rid of them, and his wife had a great deal of them on her skin. But to him, they only enhanced her rare beauty. She had a dusting of them on her nose and cheeks, and when she turned red from embarrassment, the freckles seemed to darken on her flushed skin.

She had a small, long nose, large hazel eyes with long sandy-colored lashes, and a small, kissable mouth he could still remember vividly kissing in the carriage. She also had a cleft on her chin, and he could not wait for the day those erotic lips of hers would learn to do more than kiss. There were many things one could do with a woman’s mouth, and she would learn every one of them. By God, he would make her want him shamelessly by the time she had stayed with him for months, because she was not going anywhere. She was his, and he would keep her.

Realizing she had just glared at him when he offered her his hand, Rohan smirked. Now, that was what he thought—challenge and disobedience. Rohan thought with a sly smile as he parted his lips to speak again but was distracted by Rav’s voice in his head.

"My Lord, the council is here for the meeting, and Lord Edmond is demanding to see you immediately. Should I tell them you are not around or let them in?" asked the man telepathically, causing Rohan to sigh to himself. He had almost forgotten about that bastard Edmond, whom he’d fed from in his mansion last night and still planned to feed from this night until he had no more humans.

"Do I look like I am not around? Lead them to the study. I’ll be there in a second," he said, then blocked the link to turn to his wife and cousin waiting for him.

"Cordie, I have a meeting to attend. Would you be a kind darling and show my wife around the castle to digest her meal?" he asked with a sweet smile that didn’t reach his dark eyes and carried an underlying warning toward his cousin to be nice and treat his bunny kindly. He knew how she had a few loose screws in that little-to-no brain of hers when it came to mistreating humans and anyone below her. He had liked that about her, but he wouldn’t like it if it were directed at his belongings—especially his bunny.

Cordelia had known Rohan long enough to know that smile of his was evil, even though it appeared kind to anyone who didn’t know him. She gritted her teeth at the fact that he was warning her not to harm his human bride, but then she smiled and moved closer to the useless human, linked their arms together, and said to him,

"She is in good hands, cousin Rohan. I will show her around and bring her back in one piece. Shall we, Lady Dagon?" She said the "Lady Dagon" like it was forced out of her throat, but her smile was so innocent a naive person would fall for it.

Not Belle, though. The two creeped her out with how they behaved, but surprisingly, she always felt like her husband would not hurt her and felt a sense of security with him despite his creepy behaviors. But that couldn’t be said about the vampiress, who had so heartlessly beaten a girl for little or no mistake. Though Rohan was said to be mad and cruel, she had not yet witnessed his own cruelty but instead his dark amusement and sinful behaviors of last night...
