“What’s the matter?”
Mable glanced at Blair. He was looking at her strangely, as if he had something to say.
“Nothing.”
Blair ruffled her hair and said hoarsely, “Sorry for worrying you again.”
“There’s no need to apologize. As long as you get better.”
Blair only stared at her.
Mable finished putting medicine on his arms and checked the gunshot wound on his right hand.
Due to Vortex, his wound was constantly inflamed and could not fully heal. Now that the poison was removed, the inflammation quickly subsided.
“Your gunshot wound is probably going to leave a scar.”
Mable suddenly thought of the scar Blair got from blocking a bullet for her last time. It would be the second time he got injured for her.
Blair chuckled. He sounded unconcerned as he responded, “Wouldn’t scars make a man look more handsome?”
Mable said without thinking, “You’re handsome without scars!”
He would have plenty of fans if he became a celebrity or idol.
“Is that so?”
Blair stared at Mable with a smile. “Thanks for the compliment, Mabes.”
Mable was startled. She could not believe what she said.
She cleared her throat and said, “Actually, you’re not that handsome—just slightly above average.”
Blair raised his eyebrow and asked in jealousy, “What about compared to Rory? Who’s more handsome?”
Mable’s mouth twitched. ‘What’s there to compare between you?’
“How do you know about Rory?” Mable asked him in return.
She had wanted to ask Blair the last time he mentioned Rory.
Rory had been living a secluded life these past few years, and they had not seen each other for many years. As powerful as Blair was, he could not have found out about him through her.
Furthermore, Rory had been keeping an extremely low profile. He never attended to business matters himself, so it would be incredibly difficult to look into him.
“I have my ways.”
