Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1053

Brielle suddenly found herself speechless, a shadowy part of her heart exposed in the light of love. Because in love, everyone’s a bit selfish.

She remembered, a bit too late, how King had always indulged her. She could come and go from the casinos as she pleased, no one stopping her. She could wander in and out of this place, and still, no one dared to intervene. He still wanted her.

Was it disgust or affection? How could he feel anything for her when he had once loved someone so deeply? Could it be that being in Max’s body was influencing his feelings?

Her mind was a whirlwind, and without thinking, she reached out and grabbed his sleeve. Her forced sweetness triggered a flood of memories for King.

He recalled how Brielle had tricked him into signing a six-month oil contract, leading him to her school, where he found her tutoring another male student. The tutoring was casual; a few words from her, and the other student seemed to grasp everything immediately.

King had watched from outside the window, later asking around about her grades. He found out that the teachers adored her and that her exotic beauty made her incredibly popular. This irked him. This beautiful bird should hide her dazzling feathers and stay confined to his room.

That day, Brielle stayed late at school, and for the first time, King showed unusual patience as he waited for her. She walked past him, clutching her books, but this time without her copy of the "Three Character Classic."

He grabbed her roughly, one hand around her neck and the other at her waist. "Calling the police? You’ve got some nerve," he said, his frustration needing an outlet.
