Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1058

King gently ruffled Isaac's hair, his mood light enough to bring a faint smile to his lips.

"Go ahead and eat. I'll be down soon."

Isaac scanned the room one more time, then nodded slightly. Once the child and the sleek panther had left, King shut the door and returned to the bedside.

The person in the bed was cocooned under the blanket, leaving no gaps.

He approached and gently tapped the lump. "Hungry? Want something to eat?"

Brielle didn't move, wishing she could just disappear at that moment. But remembering her purpose, she reluctantly extended a hand to grasp his wrist.

"Let's finish this."

Her voice was raspy, her fingers pale against his wrist. King raised an eyebrow slightly, took her hand, and kissed it softly.

"In such a hurry?"

Brielle was still under the covers, her gaze conflicted. It was strange; after all the mental preparation, why did she feel so low right now? She opened her mouth to say something, but then there was a thud nearby.

She threw off the blanket only to find the man had fallen asleep on the bed. A spark of excitement flashed in Brielle's eyes. She quickly propped him up, caressing his hand against her cheek.

Was Max coming back? Would he become the person she knew once he woke up?

There was another knock at the door, this time by a servant. Brielle covered him with the blanket and walked out.

The servant was accompanied by Isaac, who was carrying a tray, seemingly for King. Brielle had a soft spot for the boy, her heart melting at the sight of him. But Isaac showed no particular emotion towards her, except perhaps finding her eyes as shiny as diamonds.

"Ms. Brielle, I heard the master wanted something to eat?"

"He's asleep now, won't be eating just yet."

The servant, wary of asking further and thinking of Kailee waiting downstairs, felt a headache coming on.

"Ms. Kailee is still downstairs. Seems like she's planning to stay the night."
