Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1059

Brielle stepped back, unable to look him in the eye. She was plotting against his father, even wishing for his demise, which made her the villain in his eyes.

To this child, who had been abandoned in a dumpster by his mother at birth, King was his everything. What would he do without King?

The harsh reality hit Brielle hard. She couldn't let King disappear, at least not for this child's sake. But if King stayed, how could Max come back?

Her phone rang, breaking the tense silence and providing a much-needed distraction from the boy's penetrating gaze. She didn't look at Isaac, just raised the phone to her ear.

"Hey, bro."

"Why aren’t you back yet?"

Dustin had been keeping close tabs on Brielle, especially after learning she had gone to King’s mansion. His concern was evident.

"I'm not coming back tonight."

Instead of hunting for the truth elsewhere, she decided to focus on King. He knew a lot but chose to stay silent.

Dustin paused, rubbing his temples in frustration.

"Just because he's not hurting you now doesn't mean he won't, little kite. We don’t really know his true nature, and you’ve seen the details from Saudi. He’s ruthless. Don’t think you’re an exception."

"Bro, I know what I’m doing. Trust me, I’ll be fine."

Dustin had always said he wouldn’t stop her from investigating. Now, he found it hard to argue against his own words. Besides, with Seamus planning to make a move, staying close to King might actually be the safest choice, given some deal between King and Seamus.

Though Dustin believed he could protect Brielle, it was ultimately her decision.

"If anything feels off, call me. I’ll handle him."
