The chief knew exactly why Fisher didn’t want the area outside the fence to be safe. Fisher had powerful enemies, and every villager outside the fence was like a ticking time bomb.
If Fisher’s rivals targeted this place, they wouldn’t even need to make a move; the villagers would rush in first, ready to die for him. Some of them carried incurable diseases, making them walking explosives that could obliterate Fisher’s enemies without a trace.
It was like Fisher had turned all the villagers outside the fence into his personal arsenal.
The chief had long understood this, aware of Fisher’s ruthlessness, but he didn’t intervene. Inside the fence, at least, it was safe. Fisher lived there himself, ensuring his people wouldn’t contract such diseases.
Every villager outside the fence was Fisher’s spy and weapon.
“Chief, within two months, my people will start building hospitals around here. And the drinking water project I promised you is already done, right? The local government has given up on this land. I think you should be grateful, don’t you?” Fisher’s voice was firm, leaving no room for disagreement.
The chief stayed silent, feeling crushed under Fisher’s authority.
Fisher stood up, a sly smile curling at his lips. “Once I get back to Saudi Arabia, you’ll get more than just a few hospitals. I can ensure a bright future for everyone here. Now, I need your cooperation.”
The chief could only nod in agreement.
Fisher walked out, Bryan following closely behind.
Bryan was completely loyal to the old king, the man who had saved him.
Walking ahead, Fisher spoke in a calm tone. “Are those people under control? You’re sure they won’t cause any problems?”
Bryan bowed his head respectfully. “The professor wants money. He’s got nowhere else to go, and we’re the only ones willing to take him in. Plus, he’s got dirt on those people.”
Fisher sneered, his eyes narrowing. “Good. Tonight, we’ll be asking the Lynch family for money. The professor has been useful, letting me discover such a big weakness in my son.”
Bryan said nothing, just followed along.
