In the professor's study, he smirked when he learned that Brielle had tumbled into the tunnels and Fisher's men had followed her. Without hesitation, he opened the hidden tunnel entrance in his room.
The idea of Fisher becoming the king of Saudi Arabia didn't interest him at all. Fisher was obsessed with avenging his son and the queen, who had died long ago. But the professor had different goals. He planned to get a hefty sum from the Lynch family and use it to live a lavish life with Lillian.
Only Fisher had the complete map of the tunnels, but the professor had been with him long enough to have a decent understanding of them. He was confident he could find Brielle and get her out.
By the time the old king realized Brielle was missing, it would be too late.
The professor didn't care about the operatives in the tunnels. They weren't truly loyal to him; they just obeyed because he had something incriminating on them.
Hearing Bryan's voice outside, the professor quickly slipped into the tunnel and escaped.
When Bryan entered the room and saw it empty with the tunnel door open, he raised an eyebrow. Clever, he thought, to have escaped so soon. He went back to inform Fisher.
Fisher chuckled. "He thinks just because he's walked the tunnels with me a few times, he can find his way out? He underestimates the complexity of the traps I've set. Let him wander; he won't find his way out easily. Focus on using those we have underground."
Bryan nodded and shifted his attention elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Brielle and Ricardo were lost in the labyrinth of tunnels, realizing that most doors led to danger. Fisher's cunning meant that most paths were traps.
