Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1365

Brielle stood right there, next to Isaac, when chaos erupted. Almost instinctively, she wrapped him in her arms, taking the hit herself as a knife plunged into her shoulder.

Leona was livid, her curses slicing through the air like knives. "Who the hell told you to help Emma? If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be getting dragged through the mud by everyone! This is all your fault!"

"Damn it! Brielle! Aubree! You all deserve a one-way ticket to hell! Ha! I'll end you!"

Pain contorted Brielle's face, but the bystanders were already dialing 911. As the cops dragged Leona away, she was still screaming, her sanity seemingly shredded by the relentless online backlash.

An ambulance whisked Brielle away, with Isaac sobbing uncontrollably beside her, his tears making him hiccup. Brielle, oddly, felt more disturbed by Isaac's crying than the pain in her shoulder.

"It's okay, really. It doesn't hurt that much."

The knife was still lodged in her shoulder, painting her entire shoulder red with blood, as the medics didn't dare remove it before reaching the hospital. Isaac was in shock when the knife was aimed at him, its cold glint aimed straight for his eyes. He wondered, fleetingly, if he was going to be blinded.

But then, a warm embrace enveloped him. The pain wasn't his to bear; it had been transferred to Brielle. Tears welled up in Isaac's eyes as he clung to Brielle's clothes. Throughout the ordeal, Brielle kept comforting him, her hand gently stroking his head, trying to soothe his rattled nerves.

It wasn't until they reached the hospital that King arrived, panic etched all over his face.

"Brielle!"

Seeing the doctors attending to her, King's eyes immediately reddened, and he kissed her hand over and over. "Does it hurt?"

Brielle saw his worried expression and felt a warm flutter in her chest. "I'm fine, really. It doesn't hurt."

"How can it not hurt?"

King then noticed his son, his eyes swollen from crying, and gently ruffled his hair, causing Isaac to burst into tears again, his long lashes dotted with tears.

A fierce look crossed King's face as he issued orders to Joseph, who was waiting outside. "Find out who's behind the Drennon family's company. Buy them out within two days."

Candice couldn't help but gossip. "Emma, you're so out of the loop. Leona actually dared to attack Mr. Haywood. How could the Drennon family not fall apart?"

Emma quickly pieced together the situation. It was her association with Brielle, coupled with Stellar Stage Entertainment's statement, that drove Leona to revenge. In a way, Emma felt responsible.

"Which hospital is Mr. Haywood at?"

Candice was taken aback, knowing Emma's usual dedication to her livestreams. Recently, Emma seemed to be waiting for Brielle, intending to take some time off but never got around to it because of Brielle's absence. Now, she was actually planning to visit Brielle?

"Emma, don't say I didn't warn you. If you're going to see Mr. Haywood, do it quietly. In this industry, you've got to watch your back. People will say you're scheming to get close to Mr. Haywood."

Emma nodded, then discreetly texted Aubree for Brielle's hospital room number. Armed with a basket of fruit, she approached Brielle's room, only to pause at the sound of Dustin's voice from inside.

"How are you feeling? What would you like to eat? I'll make it for you."
